Description

The EGO Power+ chain saw is guaranteed to provide smoother cuts and optimized runtime, featuring an aggressive 14-in bar and chain and a high-efficiency brushless motor. Unique chain tensioning system features a knob dial for a proper and easy chain setting, and chain kickback brake adds a layer of safety for more manoeuvrability. EGO Power+ specialized design comes in a weather-resistant construction, allowing uses in light rain and cold temperature. Built-in automatic lubrication system always ensures that your blade is perfectly oiled, and oil level is easy to check as oil inspection window lets you know when a refill is required. The advanced EGO Power+ 56-V battery uses industry-leading ARC Lithium-ion(TM) technology to deliver robust power and is designed to fit in any EGO Power+ power equipment. Rated 5 out of 5 by Pleased from Blown Away I bought this about a month ago to add to my collection of Ego tools. I had previously used a li operated chain saw, albeit, it was just 18 volts. It was slow and clunky and by the time I was through cutting an 8 inch diameter limb, my shoulders would ache from the vibrations, so I had some trepidation when I ordered the Ego. Imagine my utter delight when, on first use, the saw just chewed through stumps that I had standing in my yard. Lots of reserve power, long lasting runtime, very fast cutting and relative quiet and all controls are easily accessible and easy to make adjustments to the saw. Would buy it again in a heartbeat. Excellent tool.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Tabasco from 1/2 cord on 1 charge I ordered a cord and 1/4 of firewood. It came in all at 24" long and didn't fit my smaller wood stove. My gas chainsaws all had fuel line degrading from ethanol fuel. I bought the EGO 14" model after checking reviews and began cutting the lengths down to 16". It surprised me for a few reasons: 1) the battery held up long into the job 2) the chain cut with almost no pressure 3) when I needed to lean on it, the saw lost little power 4) the battery charged in less than an hour 5) the auto adjust on the chain tension was easy 6) the chain lube system gave it just enough oil without over or under lubricating. The blade never heated up.

It's a chainsaw, which can be intimidating. However, after filling it with chain oil, sliding on the chain and going over the safety features I was ready to go! It has the power I have come to expect from Ego products, the battery life to get the job done and enough safety features to feel comfortable using. I'm so impressed with Ego, that I'll eventually get the hedge trimmer when I can swing the money.

I think it is perfect not only for those that have little to no familiarity with chainsaws, but also for those that have much more experience . It is easy to use, light, and relatively quiet. There are little pictures all around it that really help with things like changing the chain or adjusting the tension. The 2.0 Ah battery let me cut down a tree and take off all the branches on one charge. If you were going out into the woods and did not have easy access to a charger you can also use a larger battery. I tried my 7.5 Ah battery and it still worked great, it was just a little more bulky. Make sure you check the oil periodically while working though. This thing is thirsty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by cp6020 from Ego Power Chainsaw I wanted this for Christmas, yes a 56 year old lady wanted her own chainsaw! My husband wasn't to keen on the idea at first, he is a Stihl man. He did get it for me, and now I have to pry it from him to use. I really like being able to push a button and it will start. It is much quieter and no oil and gas smell. We own 61 acres and we are working on removing junk trees and improving our forest. It is great for the work I am doing, where I am only making a few cuts at a time, before I do it again. Love pushing the button to start and not having to leave the old saw running because you don't want to pull start it again. I use it also for cutting firewood and it works great. My only problem is that now my husband wants to use it too, so my charge doesn't last as long when it is just me using the saw. So I think he should get me another battery!

Rated 1 out of 5 by WoodyBrit from Half a dozen cuts per battery I have a blower (awesome), trimmer (perfect) and chainsaw (useless). I have two 2.5 batteries and they each last a few cuts on the saw and they're done. Can't fault the blower as I'll get a good 20 minutes put of it and the trimmer has always lasted longer than I need. I especially love the handle length on the trimmer (I'm 6' 5") as I don't have to stoop at all. EGO really should market that benefit more! However the chainsaw just doesn't 'cut it' unfortunately. I have a large tree that was professionally cut down and I though I'd be able to trim and log it up but at the rate of two batteries lasting 10 minutes its going to take a year of weekends! It has the power while it lasts but don't expect anything more than a log of two.

I have 2 1/2 acres of land with 3/4 of that being trees. I wanted to clear some land so I could build my Granddaughter a doll house...well, it worked better than expected, and the neighbours next to me didn't have a clue I was using a chainsaw..it was quiet, quick, and no gas smells anywhere. It cut trees that I first though were too much for it, but it handled it with ease..I had a slight issue, but nothing the support team couldn't handle within a matter of minutes over the phone. I'd give them an A+ on support.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sawtooth from 1st time chainsaw and it made me feel like a pro I bought this with all the Ego products. I have 2 4amp batteries. I did a big project last weekend and used one battery. See pictures of my trimming. I used a pole saw to get it down then the chainsaw took over. I went thru 4 oz of lube oil during this cutting, and several cuts from 1/2 inch upto 12 inch branches. The blade came off once but I should of been checking the tension. Cleaned it up and blade back on in 5 minutes
