Description

This cordless hedge trimmer with a 1-in cut capacity is one of a kind! The POWER+ hedge trimmer has a high-efficiency brushless motor which allows for longer run times and lighter weight. Rated 4 out of 5 by Ontario Al from Good performance I bought this to replace a 120 V trimmer that I used for years. I have just finished trimming my 200 foot, 10 foot high, 6 feet wide cedar hedge. This EGO trimmer worked great. Nice clean cuts, didn't bog down and battery never ran out ( I worked over 3 sessions). When working off the top of a step ladder and cutting with one hand to get the top of the hedge I had to bypass the loop handle interlock with a wrap of electrical tape but that was simply done and I didn't feel I was putting myself at any risk. Unit is a bit heavier than my old 120 V trimmer but the advantage of going cordless more than made up for it. Bit pricey but good value.

I had been trimming my shrubs with a early 1990 Echo gas powered hedge trimmer for ever. I had to start and stop while trimming my 38 very mature shrubs. I was able to trim all my shrubs on one charge with only one break in-between. No back or shoulder pain afterwards. Battery power is never ending. I wanted to see how much juice was left in the battery by running my EGO 650 blower with the supplied 2.5ah battery and got 15 minutes run time after doing all the trimming. Awesome machine. My only wish is that it came with 3rd Generation battery which has the gage. Don't delay, buy one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from EGO has produced a killer hedge trimmer Had a cordless Ryobi hedge trimmer and replaced it with this. I trimmed every hedge I own on a single charge and was blown away by the smoothness of the cut. My old trimmer never cut this smooth. I’m a 75 year old woman and was concerned that the combined weight of the trimmer, with the battery mounted, would be too heavy for me to manage. It was not. And the only other concern I had was that both hands had to be on the handles pressing triggers and that this would somehow limit my reach (my bushes are mature and very big). No problem at all and I now have appreciation for those safety features which my old trimmer did not have.

Rated 5 out of 5 by dcamp31 from This hedge trimmer is fantastic. This hedge trimmer is fantastic. I was afraid the 24" would be end heavy, especially when reaching up or out over a shrub. Once the battery is in place, the trimmer is very balanced. It is lighter than I expected as well. The trimmer blades are sharp out of the box and cut very cleanly. It makes quick work of small limbs (.25" and below) and cut branches up to .75" in diameter. Anything over that thickness is difficult to get between the teeth. The removable safety cover also protects the blades from bumps when storing. The battery took about 35 minutes to an hour to charge out of the box. It takes about the same amount of time to charge after being run down completely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rsbob from Ego Brushless Hedge Trimmer I just love my Ego brushless hedge trimmer. It went right on through the hedges like it was butter. Even the 1" parts were no match for it. I have the 5 amp hour battery and was able to trim the front, back and sides on a full battery. Still have plenty of battery power left to trim some bushes on the side of the house. It is a little heavy with that heavy duty battery but well worth it. I have the blower as well and my next purchase will be the lawn mower and another heavy duty battery. Keep up the good work on such great products!! I will be Ego poor, lol. I highly recommend their products. It is so nice not to have a cord to mess with or gas and oil.

Rated 4 out of 5 by fidgit from so far so good good amount of power , seems same as mains electric, and keeps a charge for a whole yard of work. I have a largish corner lot in a small city with a fence surround and lots of growth along the fence and tree branches hanging over. lots of bushes and other growth in the yard. It can handle all of this is a single pass on a single charge and still have some left. It can cut anything up to an inch so small sprout maples that spread all over the yard are history as well as the larger Locust sprouts that I can't pull up I want to buy a chainsaw and tree saw/line trimmer but the price is keeping me from replacing what I already have although the ease of use is far superior. We'll see, hope the price can come down a bit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Blackdawg124 from Glad I bought this I have a lot of hedge and shrubbery of varying heights. I started clipping them with electric clippers and constantly cut drop cords. Then I used lower voltage battery powered clippers which were under powered and the batteries drained quickly. Last year I purchased a gas powered model which is a high quality machine, but it is heavy and awkward to use. Then I decided to try Ego. I have only used it once, but so far I love it. It isn't heavy and it is perfectly balanced which makes it easy make even, level cuts. I used it for around 2 hours and it was still going strong. Time will tell, but so far I am pleased with this purchase.
