The porcelain lampholder with pull chain is UL safety listing certified and won't cause malfunctioning and other safety hazards. These holders come with a pull chain that helps to operate the bulbs.

Did I get mine from a bad batch(?)
Bought 2 today. Installed first one and tried to use pull chain; REALLY tough (thought chain was somehow jammed inside the switch). Tried the other one and equally not even CLOSE to being "smooth". Returning them for a refund.
