Is the SoundBuster underpad considered condo grade?

The attached pad has a sound rating of: STC 68 - IIC 66 per the vendor. If required by your condo association, this product may be installed over a supplemental layer of 3mm or 6mm acoustic cork underlayment. Do not install this product over other types of underpads, soft, rough, non-flat, uneven or other non-approved surfaces, doing so will damage the locking system and void the product warranty.

I actually laid this flooring on TOP of my older laminate flooring, and the results were outstanding. Because the planks are 'rigid', and have a 'cushioned' backing, they sit flat on top of the older floor. You cannot tell that it was laid on top of another floor. This saved me a lot of work and time, as I laid about 1,700 square feet of the new flooring. I also live with 10 rescued dogs (they live in my house with me, not outside), so the fact that the flooring is 100% waterproof in an excellent additional benefit.

We weighed the pros and cons but in the end, the waterproof nature of vinyl coupled with the lifelike woodgrain won us over and we chose this product. It is thicker (20 mil vs 4-6 mil wear layer) and more rigid than any other vinyl plank flooring. This provides a substantial backbone to make you feel like you're walking on a quality floor. The application is for a basement in-law apartment where we have grandchildren coming and going from the pool area in the backyard. We would have been chasing after them to wipe up water had we used a laminate floor. This gives us peace of mind that the floor is completely waterproof while looking beautiful and allowing the family to enjoy the floor rather than worry about swelling from water. The package also states this is usable over a heated floor system. We will consider it for a new build we are doing at our lakeside home. It seems expensive compared to other vinyl floor products. Although you are getting real quality, we believe the price point could be more competitive.

Overall I am happy with it, all is well so far, but it has only been a few weeks. It is harder to cut/install then DIY videos describe when you aren't simply cutting off chunk to stagger them. Get a jigsaw...

The product itself is gorgeous, I absolutely love the color. When installing be extra careful as the corners are very Fragile. If you place the plank upright against a wall or even holding it, the corners often bust off. Overall, we are very happy with our choice.Easy to work with and we were able to use our cutter for laminate.
