Does the stair nosing get installed on top of the planks or can it be installed flush with the planks? If it can be installed flush with the planks how do you ensure it does not move.

Crap
This stair nosing does NOT come with a "u" channel, is a nightmare to try to install. Where are the instructions? Would return is except we purchased all of the flooring already.
