Great Dremel tool
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this tool based on the features, parts included and blow molded carrying case. After the break in period per the manual I have used it to etch numbers in aluminum and on pinewood derby cars. It worked good and I like the built in collet wrench. Its super simple to unscrew the tool, push the lock button and loosen/tighten the collet. Much simpler than getting out the wrench. I like the variable speed option as well. I will say my old tool (at least 40yrs old) was built so well it finally went to heck and I purchased this thinking it wouldn't be as good. Well it is.

In my line of work this tool is mandatory.
I have used Dremel tools for years so I don't need to be sold on the quality or durability. When you work as a gunsmith there are tools you can find another that will do the job almost as well. But firearms require precession equipment and Dremel provides this with every tool they make. Having the ability to get into small places to polish the working parts I have yet to find another tool as valuable as the Dremel and it's vast array of attachments that can even come close. If you are into wood working, or just simple around the house or job tools that pay for their own way in your shop you cannot go wrong with anything that Dremel makes. I make the tedious jobs simple. Use the right toll for the right job and life becomes simple.

Dependable and well built
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a Dremel rotary toom before this one whicgh I purchased around 30 years ago. I sat in a damp basement for the last 15 years and when I took it out of its case it had surface rust on every metallic piece. I was really surprised when I plugged it in and it ran. Since then I have cleaned off the rusted area with a wire brush. I nevertheless wanted the upgrade hence the purchase of the 3000 kit.

Most versatile, best value rotary tool
As a dedicated woodworker and do-it-yourself home remodeler I have used a number of Dremel rotary tools over the years. One important aspect of this Dremel is the variable speed. This allows me to do everything from gently grinding down my dogs' toenails to carving initials in gifts with higher speeds. This model has plenty of power and I especially like that the collar can be used to loosen the collet when changing drive bits. Very handy.

Good tool, tad bit unwieldy
I bought this tool for several home projects. It functions well and does a good job. It is a little heavy and hard to hold at times. Also it generates quite a bit of heat and I cannot use it for long periods of time. Another fault is the bits for glass work. I used 1 bit on a single project and that was it. The project wasn't even a large piece of work, just a pattern etched in glass on an 8" x 10" frame.

Reconditioned tool looks and performs like a new o
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a reconditioned model 3000, along with a selection of tools and a nice case, as a Christmas 2020 gift. I have used it a bit since, and find that it works great and has handled the tasks I've used it on. As received it looked like a new tool. I would never have identified it as reconditioned if I had not been aware of the fact.
