Can your DMX 1 Step 2.0 white side down be full trowel glue down to clean concrete, then click floor floated on top?
Hello Dave,
DMX 1-Step 2.0 is to be floated on top of the concrete floor, on top of which floating floors such as vinyl plank (5mm thick or more), laminate and engineered hardwood can be installed.
We do not recommend for our product to be adhered to the concrete floor.

can you lay a foam insulation on this and then install click flooring, and if so what would be the best for this.
Hello:
If desired 1" thick XPS (Expanded Polystyrene) sheets can be installed on top of our Underlayment, which wound increase the warmth factor of the finished flooring.

Regarding the 5mm thickness of vinyl plank - the one I am looking at is listed as 4.2mm with a 1mm IXPE pad for a total of 5.2mm. Is that going to work? I am not sure if the pad counts towards the minimum thickness requirements.
Hello Eyerise:
Yes, we recommend an overall thickness of 5mm for direct application on top of DMX 1-Step 2.0.

Further to pdqdev question above, could the perimeter of 5 mil loose lay be glued to you’re product then loose lay the field? Or for that matter glue all the butted vinyl to your product? Thanks
Hello:
we do not recommend the installation of loos-lay vinyl with our underlayment. We cannot confirm whether the glue around the edges will hold, and therefore, we do not suggest the use of these types of vinyl with DMX 1-Step 2.0.

Can DMX 1 step 2.0 be used in an un- heated 3 season pool house, on top of a 6” concrete slab? We intend to put 5 mm or greater LVP flooring over it. Temperatures can be as low as -30 Celsius in the winter.
Hello:
DMX 1-Step 2.0 can be used in the above mentioned application, unheated 3-season pool house on top of a 6" concrete slab.
We do recommend, however, to confirm with the vinyl plank flooring manufacturer as well.

We are looking to install butt type vinyl (no click). We have existing jambs to deal with so need this thickness. Will this product work with butt together non glue vinyl?
Hello:
DMX 1-Step 2.0 has been designed for click vinyl plank flooring, and it is not recommended to install loose-lay vinyl directly on top of our underlayment.
In this case, we recommend installing plywood or OSB on top of our underlayment first after which loose-lay vinyl can be installed.

Best vinyl underlayment bar none!
My contractors love this underlayment. I used it in my condo because it has the highest sound absoption out of all the underlayments and because Scott McGillvray swears by it. Some of the other products say they are higher (75 IIC) but the test results they are all skewed to make it seem higher than it is. DMX 1-Step was the only product my condo board accepted with ease and it rolled out like glass which was very surprising. I thought it would have a natural curl to it, but it didnt. The vinyl was quite good too. Overall I am very happy and my next door neighbour is doing her floors and she is doing it with DMX now too. My downstairs neighbours cant hear a peep (before they did) and I am happy I went this route.

Great product that's becoming popular.
I actually give it 4 1/2 stars. Overall a great, easy to use product that will allow my basement floor to breathe and keep my flooring in great condition. I'm sure it helps keep the floor slightly warmer than being directly on concrete.
The only minor drawback that keeps me from giving it 5 stars is that it gives the flooring a slightly hollow sound. Not enough to be annoying but enough to notice.

Great product for basement
Very easy to work with. Creates a softer and warmer floor. It is solid and doesn't sink when jumping on it.
