Description

Commercial type stump grinder, this model has a 14 HP Kohler CH440 PRO engine with an electric start. This shredder cuts 4 inches wide using 12 direct drive blade teeth. With a sturdy cart, ATV wheels and a removable tow bar, this shredder has it all for easy transportation and use. The OPG888E model crushes stumps with a diameter of 14-in maximum above the ground and 10 inches for those buried under the ground.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JayBeeH from DK2 OPC505AE Gas Chipper: Expensive but worth it Detail K2 OPC505AE Gas Chipper, Reasonably easy to assemble out of the crate. The infeed chute was banging on the gas tank during shipping and left a dent and paint scrape, but only cosmetic. Many claim the hydraulic hoses are too short during install. I found they are the right length, but are assembled on a bench or jig, therefore don't have the same curves as they are installed. Hang the speed control loosely from 1 bolt while installing the forward/reverse handle, should be able to twist into place. The main bearings for the flywheel and infeed roller have grease zerks, but no mention of that in the manual. They seemed to have grease in them, but also took some more. All the fasteners were nice and tight. The tow hitch is pretty loose, but it's fine for moving around the work site. It's not highway rated. The machine should have a toolbox for basic tools needed to clean/inspect and for protective gear, so I added one. I upgraded the discharge chute swivel clamp to wingnuts, so it can be adjusted without tools. Added an hour meter to the motor to keep track of maintenance intervals. The deflector at the end of the chute needs a rubber skirt or something to keep the chips from blowing backward out the gap. So far so good. I was pleasantly surprised to find the 14hp motor can keep up pretty well. The hydraulic infeed is great! Keeps the chipper feeding at a steady rate and lets you fetch the next branch. This machine is pretty expensive for what it is, but it performs almost as well as a heavier rental machine that would cost more than twice as much.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Apple Orchard 1 from Hyd. hoses were to short. I work on an apple orchard that is 22 acres and 1000 trees that is located on the side of a mountain. This chipper is the perfect size for getting next to trees and around the trees. The hyd. feed makes all the difference in the world and have cut our labor time in half. Assembly took a little time, the hyd. hoses to the speed control were a little short, but I made them by stretching them. I did install an hour meter on our unit. (not included). Over all it’s a great machine and works well for us. We about 30 hours on the chipper.
