[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I need to get something done and pick up a tool - any tool, a hand tool or a power tool - I don't want to wonder if it is going to work properly this time. If it's the right tool for the job and I bought it, then I expect it to perform perfectly. This DeWalt cordless drill is no different. I bought it because I also own an older model it has worked flawlessly over the years. I decide it was time to stop changing bits and instead be able to grab a second drill and just keep working. This second cordless drill is even better than the earlier model. Lighter with more power and the batteries are compatible! Plus, it's reasonably priced for what it delivers. My older drill is jealous because this new one is now my go-to cordless drill. It doesn't disappoint and I would not have expected anything less from DeWalt.

I used it no more than 15 times and it burned out the motor. I tried to find a replacement motor on the dewalt web site but the web site is horrible to go on. I liked the old 18 volt tools myself. They were more rugged and had more power. So with that said, if it ain't broke don't fix it.

The battery life is also great and the light had been a life saver in low light or dark areas!

Works good for drilling small holes or for the house wife but not heavy enuff to actually do real work.

The slim, 20v battery weighs half the size of the heavier, bulkier 18v batteries. I am able to drive 3" screws all the way into the wood within a couple of seconds and without stripping the heads. The second pro of this drill is that one battery lasts a couple of hours on a full charge and I can get the job done quicker. The third pro about this drill is the quick charger. I don't have to wait around for a battery to charge. The drill has more torque than the 18v systems. I would definitely recommend this cordless drill to any one that wants a high quality drill in their tool collection that is trustworthy and ready to work when you are.

However, I now have encountered some type of issue with the chuck. It's locked up or something. I can "force" it using a channellock pliers but obviously something is wrong. Will be contacting Dewalt to see if there's anyway to fix it. Would give it 5 starts but for that bit issue.
