It cuts faster and more accurately than several saws that cost twice or three times as much. It doesn't have a ton of useless extra features the more expensive saws have, and you probably won't miss them at all. The base plate is very solid and overall feel is very nice, and it just seems very well made . I'll never buy another Bosh after using the latest DeWalt jigsaws, especially at half the price. Just a great basic jigsaw!

Rated 5 out of 5 by jotjmd3240 from Perfect for a First Timer I enjoyed my Dewalt cordless drill so much I decided to take a chance on this jigsaw. Not disappointed in the least! Was easy to use right out of the box. I had never used one and it was a piece of cake. I can say that it is perfect for that weekend project and could honestly say I could see it lasting a lifetime. The only complaint I can remotely come up with is saw dust often got in the path of the cut so that I couldn't see the line but honestly I don't know if that is just part of the job. Definitely a recommend.

Rated 1 out of 5 by donaldsanders from Super Disappointment. As DeWalt is my favorite brand of power tools, I was sadly disappointed when I used my new DeWalt jigsaw. I did not know that it had settings which allowed the saw to move in a rotating direction as well as up and down as jigsaws normally do. When I set the blade on Zero so the rotation was supposedly nullified, the blade still moved forward and would not stay seated in the guide. Instead, as the blade had no rigidly as it was outside the slotted guide, the blade flexed to the side of the cut and sawed crookedly. I tried all the setting for the blade but could not get the blade to remain in the slot. Consequently, the saw is no good to me in my applications.

The only thing I don't like about it is you can't see the cutting line because of saw dust piling up in front of the blade. It needs a little hole at the blade somewhere so the motor fan can blow the saw dust out of the way. The way it is now, you cut a 1/4 inch and blow the saw dust out of the way, cut 1/4 inch and blow again.

Needed it for a deck pergola project. Made 34 cuts in 2 X 6 and 2 X 8 material with the included blade and it was still going strong at completion. Lowes advertises this as having a storage pouch included but that is not the case. Highly recommend this saw for this price point.

Rated 3 out of 5 by tomd from fooled by the yellow color i went to lowes to get a porter cable jigsaw but they were out. the manager said he could discount the dewalt so I got it instead. I thought because it was a dewalt it would be better..wrong. the saw works and cuts fine BUT it throws the sawdust on your cutting line and in your face and I do not have enough wind in me to keep blowing the dust off the line. I have even used a air gun to blow the dust off. obvious design flaw. if I could take it back I would.

Not one problem, not one hassle with anything and I bought it RECONDITIONED! This was my first wood cutting electric tool. Now I carve and use a DEWALT planer as well. The jig saw doesn't get too hot even when going thru 2 inch thick wood for a bit of time too. I do scroll work. I love it that you are not cornered into using one type of shank design. It holds them all, Exceptionally tight. DEWALT has served me well and will continue to do so in my opinion.
