No Bag. Can't use tool (DWE6401DS) after purchase
No dust bag with unit, can't find one anywhere on line, or even a part number to reference. DeWalt needs to make it readily available. I'm very disappointed in the lack of planning on DeWalt's part.

Not good for fine woodwork
I am a beginner, hobyist woodworker. I bought this because the palm mouse sander was just too small. This sander is great at removing wood, but it is too powerful for any fine woodwork. I am making a tabletop and swirls are impossible to prevent or remove. I was hoping that attaching my shop vac to the dust port would help with the issue, but even my small adatper slides right off.

So Dusty!
I should have read reviews before purchasing this sander. It does a great job, but there is no dust management, so the dust is literally everywhere. I am willing to purchase a dust cover, but I have searched everywhere I can think and it doesn’t seem to even be an option. So, that’s pretty annoying and disappointing.

No Dust Bag? Dust all over
I was surprised that this product did not come with a dust bag even though the sander comes with the fixture for one. I assumed the dust shroud would replace the need but OMG what a mess. I spent more time vacuuming than sanding. Very dissatisfied.

Serious problem with switch or motor
This sander performs its function well, but there is something seriously faulty in the switch or the motor.
I bought my first one of these in January '21. It worked great and lasted over a year, with probably more than a hundred hours of use.
However at some point since then, DeWalt changed something in the switch.
When my first unit died, it just stopped working. It had given me a reasonable amount of use, and I wasn't upset. So I bought another.
That second unit lasted about two months. I thought maybe it was just an anomaly.
Instead of simply not working, I started smelling an awful burning smell, I could hear an electrical crackling sound, and smoke started pouring out from around the trigger switch.
I had to unplug it to get it to stop.
I brought it back for exchange.
Since then I've had about 4 more units, none of which has lasted more than a few hours of use. They all do the same thing: burning smell, crackling sound, smoke from the switch.
I am using the sander exactly the same way I have been for almost two years.
There is something faulty in these things, and DeWalt needs to get it fixed immediately.
Not only are these basically garbage, they are not safe.

Dust Collection is a problem
they should make it clear this product is not sold with anything to collect the dust it produces. And its difficult to find an adaptor to fit a shop vac.

easy to use
I purchased this to make sanding hardwood easier.... and... just wow.
I have wondered why I didn't purchase one before now, this sander made the job quick, easy, cleaner, and did I mention easier?
I was using an old belt sander, and an old finish sander before I decided to purchase this. By far the easiest and most effective tool to sand my wood floors, but I also use this to sand and smooth metal.
