Description

Smooth wood surfaces or remove stains and varnish with the DeWALT 3 amp orbital sander. The motor produces 12000 OPM for efficient operation while a short height gets the tool closer to the wood. The 5 in orbital sander comes with a separate counterweight and rubber over-moulding to reduce vibration. It is easy to grip and control.

To attach dust port to other vacuum systems with 1-1/4in hoses, use DWV9000 Universal Quick Connector
Improved dust collection and one-handed locking dust bag
Rubber over-mold in all of the critical areas of the sander
Shorter height allows the user to get closer to work piece
Dust port is designed to fit directly to the DWV010 or DWV012 dust collectors
3.0 Amp motor that spins the pad at 12,000 OPM

Description in other Dewalt online information states that universal quick connector does this but it definitely does not. DWV9000 inner dimension is 1 3/4 or 1 7/8 inches

Rated 3 out of 5 by Melissa from Worked great for a short while Received this model as a warranty replacement for model D26451K, which only lasted from May 2014 to Dec 2016. I had high hopes that this model would last much longer than the last one did, but I was wrong. This one crapped out in Aug 2018. Unfortunately, I had to purchase another one of this model because our local home improvement store does not have much of a variety. If I had other options I would not purchase this model.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CodyJ from Times Have Changed! Bought this for a few wood projects and haven't looked back since. Its been durable, powerful and the hook & loop pad has lasted great! The dust collector also works fantastic. If I had to complain my only thing is it hums fairly loudly but that's from the powerful motor and fans it has. Typically, I used the square sanders of days past and this is at least 5X more efficient, if not more. I was recommended this from a fellow at the hardware store because of the efficiency and was skeptical... not anymore though! Also has worked great for body work, as I share a shop and my friend has been using it for some of his restoration work. I personally would recommend this over the battery operated ones. Its much lighter and more nimble. As silly as it sounds, this is one of my favorite Dewalt products I have used.
