Description
Use this 20-volt cordless reciprocating saw to demolish, make straight or curved cuts, and pruning. These saws are portable and easy to carry around different job sites. The DEWALT reciprocating saw has variable speed and makes 3,000 strokes per minute. Its keyless blade system doesn't require any tool to change the blades.

HOMEOWNER USE DIVIDED EVENLY BETWEEN 2 IDENTICAL DEWALT RECIPROCATING SAWS THAT WERE REALLY IMPRESSING ME BEFORE THE FIRST ONE FELL APPART! THESE SAWS ARE DANGEROUSLY POWERFULL BY ABOUT 3X TOO MUCH BY MY ESTIMATION. IF ALL THAT OVERLY EXCESSIVE POWER COULD BE REDUCED AND TRANSLATED INTO 3X MORE RUNTIME AND A BETTER TOOL BODY THAT WAS UPGRADED TO BE AT LEAST AS DURABLE AS PLAYSCHOOL OR FISHER PRICE CHILDREN'S TOYS, THEN I BELIEVE IT WOULD BE BETTER THAN IT CURRENTLY IS. NOT PLEASED WITH MY FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH DEWALT CORDLESS TOOLS SO FAR, SADLY! I HAVE HAD EXCEPTIONAL LUCK WITH ALL OF THE DEWALT A.C. POWERED CORDED TOOLS THAT I HAVE USED AND OWNED PREVIOUSLY. SAD TO SEE THAT THEIR CORDLESS TOOLS ARE NOT UP TO THE USUALL DEWALT LEVEL OF QUALITY THAT I HAVE COME TO EXPECT BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE WITH THEIR CORDED TOOLS.

The good -
cordless makes it insanely portable & versatile.
Blade change is a breeze & intuitive..
Variable speed trigger...
Could be better-
Battery life, if you run smaller batteries keep a few charged on hand; runs great with the 20/60 flex volt batteries.
Variable speed trigger.. It is a little on the touchy side which isn't always an issue but sometimes I wish it had a lil more "control"

Not bad for a base model
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the base model reciprocating saw, but its not bad. I'd definitely reach for this one before grabbing a red or blue tool. Its a good tool for the price, although I rarely use it anymore since I have the XR reciprocating saw. If you're not a trade professional, I would recommend buying this one and not paying more for a higher end model.
