Nice recip saw!
I purchased this saw to replace my DeWalt 18V set. What a huge difference the 20v Max makes in power. Be sure to purchase 4 or 5 AH batteries with this tool as it will run down the smaller ones pretty quickly.
I had been a professional remodeler for over 20 years, used a lot of recip saws, my favorite had always been my Milwakee...this one is quickly replacing it as a tool of choice. Being able to insert the blade sideways is a fantastic idea! Just be aware when the tool is brand new it might make a few strange noises and run a bit rough, mine smoothed out after a couple uses and now runs great!

works great when it works
I've gone through three of these saws. This saw works great until the gears strip out, which I've had happen to me three times already. I have most of the 20v dewalt stuff, impact, drill/hammerdrill, circular saw, multi-tool, roto-zip, miter saw... they all work flawlessly. This reciprocating saw just doest seem to be built to last like the other tools. I'm very disappointed and though i could really use it, I'm not ready to go spend another $100 just for it to break in three months. Maybe it just not meant for use on a real job site.

This my third 20-volt tool the drills are outstanding and the batteries last for hours. Had to work off a ladder the cordless unit made it safer and easier than dragging a cord around. The battery pack lasted through the afternoon cutting off old nails that were tucked behind some gutter. Easy blade replacement, no more allen wrenches. the 20-volt is worth the extra money over the 18-volt the batteries last twice as long.

Great Tool
Great for when you don't have access to power. The reason for a 4 Star is due to the fact it really runs the battery down fast. I recommend a 4AH or 5AH when using this, and have an extra. It does everything a corded one will do. Like the flexibility of being able to cut various products just by changing the blade. Also like the ease of changing the blade, and also the ability to change the direction of the blade. If you're looking for something to use where there isn't any power access, this is the tool for you.

A good saw
I have upgraded a lot of my tools to the 20V Dewalt platform. I am happy with their quality. I like this saw. Coupled with a 4 AH battery it has good power and good runtime. The tool free blade clamp is convenient. Unfortunately it gets stuck in the open position very easily when it comes in contact with dust when doing demo work on plaster walls. If not cleaned, it will not grip the blade. This can be very annoying.

Perfect tool for me
This is so handy! I had the batteries for my drill, so buying this was perfect. I can think of lots of uses for it, but I wanted to use it to cut up a small tree that was in the yard. I looked at small chain saws, but this is so much more versatile! It worked great on the tree, and tomorrow I’ll use it to cut off the legs of an old desk so I can put on sturdier ones. Tomorrow maybe I’ll cut a pipe. This is a great tool!

A great addition to my 20V Max tools
I bought the 20V Max 1/2 drill & 1/4 in impact set a while back and have enjoyed them better than any previous cordless tools I have ever owned. Last week I bought the 2-pack of 3.0 AH batteries and made the decision to start replacing some of my older corded tools with 20V tools. The Reciprocating saw was my first purchase.
I already knew I liked the 4-way blade attachment options and the general design looked good enough for my around-the-house projects. So far I have used the saw to cut PVC pipe, 2x4s, notch 4x4s, and demo some old lattice work. It handles the longest blades with ease. The saw has performed very well.
I do wish it had a speed control like my old Black and Decker because in awkward positions it is too hard to get good speed control with the trigger alone.

Convenient to Use Recipro Saw
This is a quality cordless tool. Seems as strong as a corded saw with out the cord hassle and worry about cutting through the cord. The variable speed control trigger takes some getting used to as it seems a bit touchy. Over all another great DeWalt tool.
