DEWALT 20-volt MAX 3/8-in Right Angle Cordless Drill - Lithium Ion - 2-Speed - Bare Tool (battery not included) is rated 2.9 out of 5 by 34.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comes in handy, not a bad tool [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Its not the greatest quality, but it definitely comes in handy from time to time. To my knowledge, this is the only right angle drill DeWalt makes, which I find a little disappointing. I also don't like that its only a 3/8" chuck, because it prevents me from using some of my bigger hole saws and augers. As a trade professional, I would absolutely buy a "XR" or "Atomic" right angle drill with a half inch chuck.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Three failed motors - brushes fail The unit has lots of torque and basically works as advertised. However, the brushes in the motor keep failing. This occurs after the motor has stalled several times drilling with a larfe spade in seasoned wood. I use a 4AH battery witht he drill. There is no over-current protection for the motor and generally it runss very hot under load. A re-design wiith a brushless motor like the Rigid or Ryobi models would be appreciated

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for what it is Is it the strongest drill dewalt makes? No, but I also dont think its marketed to be so, after all it is a small right angle drill. I bought this drill to use in tight spots to drill out broken bolts and stripped out screws and so far it has worked very well for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tool for those hard to reach places Perfectly balanced and ergonomic for getting into those hard to reach spots.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Burned Out Within a Year I bought this to drill in tight spaces where for normal drill would not reach. In the same vein as other reviews, this thing worked great when I was just drilling small 1/8" holes with it. As soon as the drill encountered an obstacle with a larger bit the motor smoked and smells like burning plastic. It still spins but has excessive sparking, noise, and continues to smell like burning plastic.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not for heavy duty I had a similar experience to a few other reviewers here. On the first house I ran wire in, this thing burned up. When I was drilling 3/4 into the studs, this thing was butter. However, when I had to drill through the sill plate, it got bogged down and I began to smell burning plastic and seeing black smoke coming from the drill. It still works, but it gets piping hot after maybe 5 minutes of work. I would not recommend. If you’re trying to drill holes, pony up for a hole hog.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dead within 15 seconds Bought this drill to poke four 1/2” holes into some headers for fishing down some switches. Let the smoke out on the first hole within 15 seconds, only going through one 2x4 (sideways, no less) and now it is completely dead. It has been out of the box less than ten minutes. I’m a Dewalt fan through and through and figured some of the reviews were overly critical. They’re not, this tool is absolutely not worth the effort. Super disappointed, even moreso that there is not a brushless option.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Chuck stopped engaging Bought this for the random cases I needed to drill in tight spaces. I used it only a few times and then the check started acting up. Most of the time after I release the trigger the chuck disengages from the drive gear and I have to push it back in before it will work again.
