Great cordless hammer drill!
I bought the DeWalt 20 Volt bare tools cordless premium hammer drill. I love the bare tools feature as I hate having a huge collection of chargers stacking up that are included in every cordless purchase. I already have DeWalt 20 volt cordless equipment so this made buying the hammer drill much more affordable! I used the drill to drill about 60 5/32 holes in 15 concrete benches and it worked flawlessly. I recommend using a 3.0 Ah battery as hammer drilling uses a lot of battery power. As for quality, it was typical DeWalt, tough, well built and reliable.

Very reliable, liked my first one enough to buy a.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have owned two of these over the last few years and never had any problems with either of them. The batteries could sit on a shelf and hold a charge longer than any other battery operated tool I’ve ever owned.
My personal experience with this drill kit was good all the way around. Whenever I was finished using the drill I would recharge the batteries before putting them away and not once were the batteries dead even after sitting unused for well over a month. The convenience of a drill like this made so many jobs a little easier and a little faster.
I would recommend this without hesitation.

Good Drill
I have only used this drill a few times and it seems to work well & has plenty of power. This drill is heavy and probably not the best choice for the occasional home use, however if you need a drill that has plenty of torque this would be a good choice.

The best you can get
I bought this drill just to have it to use around the house. Recently I did a remodeling job fro a friend it end up being the most useful thing the whole time. It is very powerful and battery life is amazing. It is even useful to drill into concrete.

Great all around tool
I am DIYer and this hammer drill is amazing. Has all the torque and power you need to get into studs, yet the clutch lets you drill into drywall without ripping it up. Recently remodeled the bathroom and this drill made it easy.

Great drill--EXCEPT for the chuck
As with my other DeWalt 20V MAX tools, I am pleased with this tool overall. It is powerful, balanced well with the 4aH battery installed, easy to adjust clutch, forward/reverse switch easy to push, and made from the same tough reinforced plastic of the rest of the line.
Only two complaints: 1.The key-less chuck is the most serious issue. It fails to live up to the tools otherwise quality standard. The chuck is rather cheaply made, allows drills to slip, (ruining the shank of expensive drill bits with a gouge or burr) or worse, allowing the bit to fly out of the chuck when you release the trigger and self-braking effect of the tool stops the chuck rapidly. You also need to be careful when tightening the chuck with bare hands, (as most do in construction). The lightly knurled metal outer portion you grip will yield a nice "friction burn" if you grip it hard to tighten larger bits. The drill is very powerful. And you DO need to grip it hard to tighten down on larger bits to prevent the above issue. (I took this tool back and exchanged it for another, since I thought it might be a defective chuck. The second tool had the exact same issue). 2. This drill, and many others, also need the small rubberized pads on each side, (like on the impact driver drills), to prevent the tool from slipping on
angled surfaces like roofs, etc.
I'm giving this 4 stars only because of the chuck, (which is a very important part of the tool). Overall, a very good tool if the chuck issue was addressed.
