This Craftsman(R) tool chest offers an ideal storage solution for tools and supplies with its innovative design and great price. With a width of 26", it features five drawers and a hinged cover to offer spaces of different sizes to store hand tools, power tools, parts and everything in between. Made of black-coloured steel, this tool chest can support a total of 50 lb per drawer, offering a total storage capacity of 3589 cu. in. It has a ball-bearing drawer slide system, recessed side handles and an external keyed locking system. You get quick and easy access to the tools that you use most frequently, and with a simple turn of a key, you will not have to worry about your gear. Backed by a 3-year limited warranty, this product can be combined with the CMST22741BK (41536891) rolling chest, sold separately, in order to create a nine-drawer tool center with lid, therefore offering an excellent storage solution.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Mark from Good low-cost toolbox [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a good low-cost mid-to-small size toolchest. I had specific size requirements and this fit the requirements well. It replaces a Kobalt stainless steel toolbox that was in the same place, but the slides for the bottom drawer of the Kobalt chest failed--it looks like they deformed from the weight of the tools and the drawer came off the slides. It remains to be seen if the bottom drawer, which is the largest, and therefore has the heaviest load, with several large end wrenches and a couple of big crescents stands up to the load. If so, it will be great..... If not.....I may be looking again in a year or two.

Rated 1 out of 5 by SFMotorsports from At Least Its Cheap Picked it up because its cheap, and I thought it might be a good deal. I was wrong. Incredibly thin metal, damaged when taken out of the box, drawers to not lock like they are supposed to, nor do they shut all the way, arm for the upper door appears to be made out of an equally thin and cheap metal. The display model was already bent, I imagine that this will be bent within a day or so. I would not recommend this box to anyone, and obviously, I shoud’ve just spent the extra money on a Kobalt and been satisfied. If you’re looking for a good tool chest, look elsewhere. If you want a cheaply made effort that will leave you angry, this is the box for you.

I don't have time to sit here and write all this out, but I feel bad for the next person to purchase this. If you're reading this review and considering buying this craftsman, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. After taking 2 weeks to arrive, I excitedly opened the packaging to find a tool box that is so warped is doesn't sit straight, 4 out of the 5 drawers don't open, and the lock for the top chest is misaligned to the point of the lock not functioning without pushing the lid in. The steel is so thin it feels like its made from the same aluminum thats used for beer cans. Needless to say I'll be returning it ASAP.

Rated 5 out of 5 by a0619951 from excellent budget tool chest I bought this tool chest for the Woodshop and so far I am very pleased with it, it works well for what I need and it looks nice. I would not recommend this tool box for someone who plans on hauling it around in the back of their truck, it wouldn't hold up. But for the homeowner that plans on keeping it stationary in a shop or garage this thing is perfect. it is made out of thinner metal compared to you're more expensive tool boxes so it can be yanked open a little easier when it is locked up but even your more expensive tool boxes can be yanked open if you pull hard enough on them, locks only keep honest people out. all in all for the price it's a fairly decent tool chest and not bad looking either.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Bill from Terrible value This item was not on display, I had to have a salesman find it on an upper shelf. When I removed it from the box, it was very thin sheet metal. It was bowed on the bottom and would not sit flat. The bottom drawer glide was broken and it would not slide smoothly. The hinged top required two hands to close, otherwise the hinge would flex in and bend the side of the of cabinet. I returned it and bought the similar model (one less drawer, but 2 pneumatic hinges) from the main competitor. Much better built for the same price. Craftsman quality isn't what it used to be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ed from sturdy and tidy [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed a way to consolidate three boxes of tools that I had accumulated over the years, and this chest fit perfectly. Occupying one corner of my work bench, the chest helps me organize all my smaller tools, but so no more hunting across random shelves and boxes looking for that one screwdriver. The drawers slide in and out silently and effortlessly, and the top hinges hold open the lid solidly but allow it to close easily. I have the top compartment for my tape measures and carpenter's squares, then drawers below set aside for screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, and the bottom one empty so far but saved for the bigger but frequently used tools.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Hobbyist from Exactly what was expected To be sure, this tool chest has its negatives: It is a bit flimsy, for example, but it did arrive quickly, undamaged, and is quite precisely as described in the advertisment. In short, whatever criticisms may be leveled against this tool chest, they are all outweighed by the fact that it is exactly what I expected and need. Those who want sturdier construction and are willing to accept higher cost and weight will want to look elsewhere. Those looking for a low-cost, light weight, serviceable tool chest can probably find no better than this one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Craftsman tool chest is just a outstanding value for it's size, function and overall quality. The drawers slide smooth, have ample room and once the lid is opened the oversized top is very spacious. It has nice side handles to carry if needed and the locking mechanisms work just fine. Overall I am very impressed and satisfied with this purchase and rate it a solid 5 out of 5. It also fits nicely with the matching bottom I also got and it looks great in the garage and finally the tools will be in one place instead of scattered all over. I did not have a need for a monstrous tool box for 2-3-4 or more times the cost of this one as this one works just fine and will last a long while.
