Rated 1 out of 5 by Jerry from SHOULD HAVE INVESTED IN A HIGHER END STUD FINDER I looked at youtube review videos about this product and also viewed videos on how to use it. I am a novice at best when it comes to indoor remodeling. I was planning to use this stud finder to locate studs in order to nail/drill tin sheets to the walls of my restroom. The inexpensive stud finder did not meet my expectation. I will continue to use it, but when I find a better one will definitely re-gift it along with a warning label - LOL!!! J/K . . . I am going to replace it. I am going to try to invest in a higher end stud finder. This one beeped and when I drilled on the spot, I constantly kept missing the stud behind the sheetrock wall. Nevertheless, going to invest in a higher end stud finder. One a bit more potent and with a screen letting me know if I am looking at wire or stud. I am also utilizing the 8" to 16" stud finding rule, but I was trying to avoid this method (just personal preference). Hope my experience helps a "rookie carpenter" or "weekend warrior" avoid making the same mistake.

I'm glad I finally snatched one of these up to keep in my tool bag. It does take a 9V battery, that I need to purchase separately.
