Does the job.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Made installing recessed lights so much easier. Also used it to install a 4 inch round dryer vent.

Doesn't work as well as a regular hole saw
I used this for a few holes and found that it was tearing the drywall paper and doing a really rough job overall, so I switched to a regular hole saw (and used it with the drill set to reverse), and it worked 100 times better than this. Save yourself the money and hassle and just buy a regular hole saw.

Works Ok
I bought this to install 4 - 4 3/8" recessed lighting. The product works ok but next time I would use an actual 4 3/8" hole saw. They cost about $8 more but would give a smoother cut. If you want to use this product I would suggest the following:
1. Remove the dust cover. It can get in the way and cause the hole saw to bind and make a mess of the hole.
2. Penetrate the material (eg. drywall) with the drill bit and make sure the drill is at full speed before you penetrate the material with the cutting teeth. Also, the hole saw should be as level as possible to the material before you start boring into it (you'll just have to eyeball it). You don't want the saw to be too much at an angle to the material because again, it will cause the saw to bind and make a mess of the hole.
3. When you're through the material and the hole is made stop the drill and carefully remove it from the hole. DO NOT try to remove the drill while it's at full speed because you will cause the saw to bind and make a mess of the hole you've just made.
I would strongly suggest that before you actually drill the hole(s) required to first practice on some scrap material. Drill a few holes to get the feel for it.

Great hole saw for the 4" can / recessed light
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great saw for the purpose of installing 4" recessed lights. Cuts the hole to the perfect diameter of 4 3/8". The recessed light housing is 4 3/8" and this allows the can to slide in and fit with no gap. This is NOT intended for a 4" hole saw. I have cut 48 cans in the house we have with this and it is still sharp clean cutting.

Not 4 inches
Sold as a 4 inch diameter hole saw but is actually 4 3/8. This is useless for me.
