I just recieved my replacement for my old 10 plane and wouldn`t you know it, it broke the first time out. So Now I had to order a another new one. Which I did, So now I must wait to make sure I get another one one.

Is this the same as Stanley surform 21-296?
Is this the same as the Stanley? If so the. Microplane makes a replacement blade that likely will improve on the craftsman blade issues

Broke instantly
As others have mentioned, the blades are awful. Two passes on a 2x4 with very light pressure and nine shattered near the nose. Would not recommend.

Works fine but blade breaks quickly
The rasp blade breaks within minutes of use. The small piece welded to the front breaks off. I’ve owned two in two days and both broke within minutes of use.
