Rated 3 out of 5 by Mike from It bit me! This is the same tape as the magnetic version, they just don’t include the magnet. The issue I have is that the manufacturer extends the hook rivets to attach the magnet. In this version without the magnet the rivets still protrude. As I’ve done all my life, I slow the tape with my thumb to keep it from slamming home during retraction. The sharp, extended rivet took a dish of skin from my thumb. Of all my tools I never thought my tape would be the one to inflict harm. I emailed craftsman and did not hear any response.

Rated 5 out of 5 by STralala from Thick Tape Makes It Easier For 1 Person Projects [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am amazed by the Pro Reach Tape Measure. Mine is the 25ft option, and as silly as it sounds, it blew my mind how far the tape reaches before even starting to bend. This is EXTREMELY helpful when on single person jobs. The tape says 14’ of reach, I made it just past that while measuring out copper length with zero problems. The heft of the tape is easily balanced, with is also amazing. Included is a picture of my father messing around with his dog when it was first unwrapped. Compared to a Stanley, which would hold the benchmark, this is 10x better.

It is big with big numbers with bright bold color. The tape measure is well built and sturdy when you pull to use and set to length. The tape does not collapse when you measure vertical measurements and the end holds firm to give accurate results. easy to measure long distances. It is my go-to tape measure! Essential to my tool bag. Easy to hold and comfortable in the hand.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Djkoval from Nice Tape Measure [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tape measure is a good value. The standout length before it breaks is about 11 feet. I believe the package states 14 feet. 11 feet is still a huge improvement over the standard 6 to 7 foot stand out of other tape measures. The blade has a distinct texture to it. In using while working in Irrigation I noticed that the texture holds onto dirt. If you are going to use this outside, in the dirt and mud, bring a rag to wipe it during retraction. Otherwise, you'll have a mess on your hands.

The slide lock holds really well and is easy to engage. I dropped it a few times off a ladder onto tile and it hasn't suffered anything more than a few scuffs. They may not make them like they used to, but this is pretty darn close.

The tape is wide with large numbers that make it very easy-to-read. It retracts smooth and fast. The lock works as expected. The back of the tape measure has a belt clip. My only issue is that this tape measure was kind of hard for me to use from a far distance while I was working alone. It starts to barely bow at about 8ft until it completely collapses at just a little over 11ft.

Rated 2 out of 5 by johnd from tape wore out in days There is a clear film over the numbers on the tape that started wearing off immediately. I probably used it 10 times before enough of it had peeled off to gum up the opening. After a few days, the yellow paint and the numbers themselves were peeling off. Craftsman used to be my “go to” brand. Not anymore.
