Can CRAFTSMAN 2-Gal Plastic Tank Sprayer be used for weed control? Do we need pump to pressurize that?

Shaky construction, cheap materials
Pump handle is flimsy, flexes and bends when puttingn pressure in the sprayer.
Sprayer handle is also shacky and not well put together.
Save your cash, try another brand.

A little disappointed
I am not one to write a bad review however I can’t say I enjoyed using this project. I recently started purchasing craftsman products for lawn care and so far I was impressed. I cut lawn for people who can not and do it for just the cost of fuel. I purchased this sprayer because it looked solid and I wanted to add more craftsman to my collection. Upon opening it I had a few concerns but decided to give it a go.
The body itself is solid and it seals well but the wand is really flimsy and the tips, well only 1 was worth it. I purchased this because of the fan tip but was very disappointed. It fans out a little at full pressure but most of the liquid leaks out the bottom and wastes product. One tip is worth it, the adjustable one that that’s more for spot treatments which isn’t what I need.
Disappointed with not having a relief valve so you have to hold the trigger until it is safe to open.
All and all it’s not bad for what it is but I can’t rate it any higher due to it lacking everything I need in a sprayer. I used it so I am stuck with it and will have to figure another use for it

Several spray nozzles are included.
Sprayer tank and handle are well made. What you would expect from a Craftsman branded product. No air release valve but still easy to purge air from tank.

Multiple tips and pressure release are nice.
I use this exclusively for carpet cleaning solution; to wet high traffic areas before a machine is applied. Works great!
