Description
The Craftsman SB2450 is powered by a 272cc 4-cycle Craftsman engine. Its push-button electric start eliminates pull-starting a cold engine, saving you time and energy on freezing mornings. Its three-stage design is great at breaking through the barrier of icy snow left by the plows at the end of your driveway. Its powerful third-stage accelerator combined with its self-propelled drive, featuring 6 forward and 2 reverse speeds, provides control and versatility in any winter condition, allowing you to break down and quickly clear heavy, wet snow. The single-hand control locks in speed, freeing the other hand to operate chute and pitch control with ease, and the extended chute puts snow where you want it. A 24 inch clearing width and 21 inch intake height allows for snow to be cleared quickly saving you time. Added features include heated hand grips, an in-dash headlight to provide greater visibility in low-light conditions and adjustable poly skid shoes to eliminate garage rust stains and protect surfaces from scuffing.
- POWERFUL ENGINE: CRAFTSMAN 272cc engine
- BREAKTHROUGH HEAVY SNOW AND ICE: Third-stage accelerator spins 10x faster than the augers to quickly break down the heaviest, wettest snow
- PUSH-BUTTON ELECTRIC START: Eliminates pull-starting a cold engine
- EXTENDED CHUTE DESIGN: Aim snow more easily, throw farther, and reduce blowback
- EASY TO OPERATE: Single-hand control locks in speed, freeing the other hand to operate chute and pitch controls
- CHUTE CONTROL: Control snow flow with 200 degree chute rotation
- PREVENTS DAMAGE: Adjustable poly skid shoes eliminate garage rust stains and protect surfaces from scuffing
- LED HEADLIGHT: In-dash headlight provides greater visibility in low-light conditions

Is it ready to go or you need a tune up
Thank you for your question. Your local store may complete the assembly, or if you receive the unit in carton simply flip up the handle, clip on the chute and adjust the slide shoes to your personal preference. Add fresh ethanol-free gasoline and you're ready to move snow!

does this machine have an extension cord for the electric start?
No, mine came without. Previous ( 15+ yrs ) was included. A necessary item to make life easier ( esp if physical ailments like “tennis elbow”) should have been included. Type (gauge and length ) of cord is specified hence the more reason to be included. Electric start was the selling feature that I chose . Disappointed but unit
usually starts on 1st or 2nd pull.

Does it have a rope start as well as electric ?
Yes this has a pull start as well as the electric start. But I can tell you my last Craftsman snowblower I had for 18 years, and never once did I need the pull start. Electric start is amazing, one push of a button every time.

Is there a link to a digital owners manual?
Is this Craftsman 24" Three stage 272cc snowblower available?
A rock the size of my fist got stuck in the blades and now the blade is broken. Where can I get it fixed? I would have to get a new blade.
Where can I find the owner's manual online for this unit?
Do you provide delivery to Wasaga Beach? Does the snowblower come assembled and ready to work on delivery?

I’m impressed!
Well... if you live further North or anywhere where the snow falls are fluffy and not heavy and gorged with water, then a two-stage snowblower will do just fine (regardless of the amount of snow you need to move). However, if you live in a place where the snow falls are heavy and watery (such as in the GTA most of the time), then you will really appreciate the three-stage machine and it’s extra CC’s (that’s translates to extra HP’s). I moved last week our first snow storm (almost 20cm, wet and heavy as hell) and this machine blew it 40’ away without any problems. I had many snowblowers in my life but first time i have a three-stage. Wouldn’t go back to a two-stage ever for as long as I will be in the city.

Content with Disappointments
Used it three times in heavy deep snow and has started first pull each time. I bought it for the electric start and haven't had to use it yet. The heaters in the grips don't work on mine and the flimsy plastic chute and cable freeze up and won't adjust. I am stuck with moving the snow 3 to 4 feet. WD40 or 3 in 1 oil might help. The major negative for me is the hard solid plastic tires. No traction once the goofy treads get packed with snow. Pneumatic tires would definitely be a huge immprovement.
But on the positive side it is a powerful unit and a comfortable size for residental use. Wear warmer mitts, carry a can of oil to help deal with freezing gears, be gentle with the plastic chute, and be ready to push for a good workout.

kind of disappointed
i bought this unit mid November to be ready for a Manitoba winter. use premium fuel in it. used maybe 6 times and would not start. figured under warranty take it in get it looked at. and i am told they had to clean the fuel line and carb due to the gas. the gas was fresh gas and was running fine.so $200 to get it fixed.
i like the unit it is a very good blower but kind of disappointed. owned a craftsman snow blower since 2007 and had to retire it finally and never had any issues with fuel or carb.
