Description

Equipped with an auto-choke that eliminates the need for priming or manual choking of the engine, simply pull the cord to start. Powered by a CRAFTSMAN 159 cc overhead valve engine that provides you with the power needed to get the job done. It also features a 3-in-1 deck which includes side discharge, bagging and mulching. For me speed is a problem. Bought a toro and had to return it. I would have to be a world class sprinter to use that unit. How fast is this unit? I am 80 yrs. old

When I fully engage the FWD it does move at a good pace, but it takes very little effort to gently engage the drive, which varies the drive speed. I use this every time, and for me it provides both fast and slow movement. I don't honestly use it at full speed very much, most of the time somewhere in-between.

Hi what do you mean by don't change oil

Thank you for your question. Thanks to improvements in tolerance, filtering and operating temperatures oil changes are not required on this mower engine. Simply check the oil level before each use and top up with SAE10W30 as needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rob24 from Craftsman Mower I bought this a few weeks ago, pulled it out of the box, easily adjusted the handle, added the provided oil to the engine, secured the pull cord to the handle, added a few of the supplied zip ties to the cables, added some fresh fuel to the tank and with one pull I was cutting my grass. I owned and used many mowers over the years and this one is definitely at the top of my list of mowers. It is powerful, quiet and efficient. The self propelled feature made short work of my 5000 square feet of grass.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MarcoG. from No more back problems I cut in a slope more than 15 degrees the lawmower climbs without issues and if so, with just a little push, no worries. Is less noiser than my previous machine same brand. The big wheels at the back make a big difference the fron wheel traction are very good even in a incline. I recommend this machine. I used to cut with a push machine for 14 years it was my decision younger, now at 59 I bought this self propeller. Great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Cano from Strong machine I bought this lawn mower exactly one year ago. At first it didnt start at first pull and after 3 pulls it went. I think I was using old gas but can't recall. Used it last season like that, not starting at first pull. Last week went to cut my grass and it wouldnt start. Took it to the shop that MTD parts deals with in my city for warranty and they took a 90 deposit and they will charge for anything that is not under warranty (clean up/tune up). It would have cost me around 200. I looked at a couple of videos on youtube and they most common issue is a dirty carbotaror. Went and grab my deposit and lawn mower, bought some gumout cleaner, took the carbotator apart, and I saw old gas sitting there, clean it really good, put new gas and it started at first pull and runs better than before. Make sure you do your maintance on this machine every year. Put.stabilizer on the gas if you are leaving some in the tank for the season and save yourself some money by cleaning the carbotator. Its not that hard however if you feel you cant, find someone on kijiji that can do it for cheap.
