Designed to withstand strong winds, this base supports heavy offset and articulating umbrellas with cross-bases and/or pedals such as the CorLiving PPU-400 or 500 series. Simply fill these strong weights with the easy-fill spouts place them on the base of your umbrella to keep in place. Guessing how the base works
Just put my umbrella together. I suppose the thing that you have to do with this base is get a wooden board and screw the base on top of it, then place your weights over the board.

great looking and easy to use base
I filled mine with water. They are huge. but looks good. They hold the large (11.5 inch) offset umbrella well. I plan to drain the water out before winter and store the 4 pieces in the garage. I don't know how easy to drain the water out - hopefully it is not heavy to flip and drain (yes, having draining hole would be great design).

Patio Base Units are not held together
Although the patio base appear to be well constructed, once filled with sand or water they lay on top of the base for the umbrella but there is nothing holding them in place. If one or two of these containers gets bumped slightly they will no longer be on top of the umbrella stand and the umbrella will easily blow over. They need some type of cover or strap to hold them together on top of the umbrella stand.

Worst product ever made
Water leaks out of the caps. So the base works for about an hour then once all the water leaks out it effectively useless.
