Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good I bought it couple of days ago, seems to be working for now, however I was missing parts eg: small pipe,3 rubber washers and 2 metal washers, fortunately I was able to use my old ones. To much hassle to return and get another one. Make sure if you can tally all the items which are in the photo ,otherwise easy to install and good.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Frustrating to install so it doesn't leak. As one reviewer already mentioned, at the bolt holes, this kit is terrible. The picture shows 6 rubber washers, which to me would imply you need to put a rubber washer both inside and outside of the tank - which may have helped - but my kit only had 3 rubber washers, 3 bolts, 3 metal washers and 3 nuts (not like the picture at all). Also, the flush valve gasket/seal that sits inside the tank is a terrible design, It is basically a flat piece of compressible rubber. My old one had a cone shape to it which helps it to self-center and seal when installing. The opening in the tank is bigger than the flush valve stem that goes through the tank (by 1/8" to 1/4"), and if you are not directly centered, the inside seal does not seat properly (part of it drops into the rough opening. 4 attempts to get the flush valve perfectly centered and also resorting to using the old tank washers (they are designed with a bit of a flare and have about a 1/2" stem - the stems actually go down into the holes of the tank) was the only way to get leak free. What should have been about 30 min job took nearly 3.5 hours of trouble shooting and mopping up water. This was installing in your basic American Standard 6 lpf toilet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy installation, but a few caveats I used the Korky universal toilet repair kit to replace the tank mechanism of a 40-year-old American Standard toilet. The quality of the Korky hardware seems very good and installation was easier than I expected. The instructions are very clear and detailed. Please take time to read them! Two caveats, however. First, be certain that your toilet's water shutoff valve isn't frozen with age. If it is, don't mess with it unless you want to risk breaking it and doubling or tripling the time and effort required to complete the work. Use your home's master shutoff valve instead. Second, your flush handle may not be in the right location to lift the flapper valve above the critical point at which it stays open until the tank has drained. In my tank, the chain initially ran at an oblique angle to the flush handle. I had to hold the flush handle down until the tank had drained or the flapper valve would close prematurely. Extending the existing flush handle arm with a plastic chopstick (secured with nylon tie wraps) and attaching the chain to the chopstick at a point directly above the flapper valve ensures that the valve is raised above the critical point. This solved the problem. I strongly suggest that Korky include some mention of these issues in their instructions, which are otherwise very good and complete. Otherwise, I'm very satisfied with the quality of the product and the time and effort required to install it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely great! After my toilet kept having issues with water running, the flap never being secure, having to do a lot of inventive fixes, I had enough, it was time to replace either the toilet as a whole of hope to find the internal parts. As this appears to be a fairly old model I was very worried that something that would fit properly might be difficult. But looking at how it was built, checking a few videos, I decided on taking the chance on this kit. To put in simply, it was absolutely great. The hard part was getting the old parts to come off. This kit was complete, with extra parts, it fitted my tank perfectly, and it was very easy to put together, and I really like the adjustability of both the valve and the plunger assemblies. If I don't count the trouble with the old parts and that I actually took the time to wash and clean the tank, it probably would have taken me less than 20 minutes to do this.. I really regret not doing this years ago. I'm on day 2, and it's like having a new toilet... it works perfectly, and it's so nice to not hear the water running and such anymore.
