Thinking of using these for a microwave shelf. Has anyone tried that ?

I did not use the shelving for this purpose but did do my entire garage with the system of rails and shelves....it is super sturdy manufactured product, and should easily handle the microwave oven you plan on supporting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LELAND from Shelving brackets Used for mounting Lowes ventilated shelving.. About 36" high.. Mount with the 2 screw holes up.. Find 2 studs and use long screws to fit thickness of support, thickness of drywall and at least 2-2 1/2 inches of stud..That is THE STUD CENTER.. 16" on center is usually the location.. For the weight of the shelves and contents, you need studs.. I bought this house with this type of shelving into drywall and we had a few fall off the wall...

Closetmaid sells kits for some popular sized closets so check out those kits to see if they will suit your needs because buying all those same parts individually will cost you 50% more.

Rated 4 out of 5 by curspice from Very strong This system, when screwed into studs, is far more stable than the old method which relied on screw anchors, angle brackets and plastic hooks. I think my tenants could sleep on these. In one of my apartments, the entire system ripped off the wall when heavily loaded. What I don't like is that this system is pricey. It'd be nice if there were discounted volume packs.

Using this in our laundry room; one the shelves holds all the laundry detergents, fabric softener, etc….pretty decent amount of weight with no problem.
