they are made of plastic. they wont support heavy weights. i've been looking for metal ones for a while

We had an addition built a few years ago, and we wanted to continue the look and feel of the rest of the home. It worked perfectly and was easy to install. Easy to cut to size. Needed different supports for stud work and sheetrock. Designed side shelving to hold two copy paper boxes, side by side.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Morris from Better than Plastic Used these metal clips to attach closet shelving to studs. Instead of nails provided, I used longer screws, making point of attachment even more secure. Where no stud existed, the included wall anchors proved convenient. For three 6-foot wire shelves, I used an entire bag of clips (12 clips per bag), making sure shelf will hold adequate weight without sagging and pulling out. Very easy installation.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Sprints from Works well, screws strip out easily though. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For the price, the mounting clips work suitably. They're a practical, unobtrusive, and strong design. I found that the screw heads stripped out easily, especially if I was driving into a stud instead of using the supplied drywall inserts. That was annoying to the point that I pawed through my space screw bin (every DIY'er has one!) to see if I had other screws that I could use with these clips. Note that I just installed these, and they're made from some sort of stamped metal. I'm curious to know how these will look in a few years. Will they show any signs of corrosion? They're certainly not going to fail under load as they're well built, but I would like to see how the surface finish holds up over time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sunset65 from Worked For Intended Use We have wooden shelves in our closet, the problem was, they were too narrow to store anything. So we laid 16” wide wire closet shelving on top of the wooden shelves and used these brackets along the back to secure the wire to the wood shelf. We left the wood shelves as support and the brackets help it stay in place so it won’t tilt forward removing things. We couldn’t use the screws that come with these, had to buy shorter ones, but they worked absolutely great for what we needed!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These fasteners were as described, perfecting for securing the shelving once installed. Plenty of screws and anchors, perfectly matched numbers to the "U" clips. The "U" clips had a bit of flex eliminating any worry that they would split.
