Craftsman circular saw.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My old circular saw quit on me halfway through a project. After attempting to fix it, I purchased a new Craftsman 7 1/4" circular saw from my local Lowes. The price seemed to be reasonable especially with a $20 discount. I found the saw to be sturdy and plenty powerful for the work I do around the house. I completed the project with no problems. There are no bells, whistles or other frills on this saw, but is a straight-forward machine that should take care of most buyers' cutting needs. Only time will tell how well the saw holds up, but after several weeks, I'm completely satisfied.

Craftsman Back!
Needed (well, wanted) a new corded 7 1/4 circular saw. There were countless options to choose from and I went with Craftsman. I'm glad I did. The primary reason I went with this saw is the shoe. I don't like the stamped shoes on the similarly priced saws. The saw inspires confidence in the hand. It is well balanced, accurate and powerful. My only complaint is the nut holding the depth adjustment lever on mine is way too tight and it's very difficult to adjust the depth of the shoe. I tried loosening it and it began to strip. Using it more has made the depth adjustment smoother. I would not hesitate the recommend this saw.

Absolutely the best grip on circular saw ever!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This saw is awesome! It ripped right through 3/4 MDF like a hot knife through butter. The comfortable ergonomic grip is the best I've ever had in my hand for a circular saw. I'm what you might call a jack-of-all-trades sometimes finding myself cutting left handed hanging from a rafter or stuck in a tight corner. Being primarily right-handed, a good sturdy side normally feels awkward in the left hand. Not this thing! Felt right at home in my left hand ripped right through anything that I threw at it. The powerful 15 amp motor is barely felt through it's smooth operation and ergonomic cushion rubber grip.

Solid choice for the homeowner
Bought this to replace a 45+ year old B&D saw that is finally reaching the end of it's useful life. What a difference!! This saw is hefty and has a very comfortable grip. It should provide everything the average homeowner will ever need in a circular saw. It has more than enough power to plow through any 2X material and 1" plywood with ease. Cut depth & angle are easy to adjust. The blade that comes with it is probably adequate for most home needs but I upgraded to a 40T thin-kerf blade to further reduce cutting effort. And the price was certainly right. Highly recommended.

The blade mark on the shoe is off by 1/4 inch.
I'll probably do what another reviewer did and mark the shoe. He used a sharpie, I'll notch it with a hack saw. What should be the mark for the blade location is really nice. It is well defined and would be great to track the line on the wood. My first cut on a sheet of plywood was off a 1/4 inch.
There were no instructions in the box, but the shoe doesn't seem to be adjustable.
While making my first cut, I was thinking, "This is a nice saw". It wasn't till I looked at my cut and saw I missed the line that I was disappointed.

This is a power house general purpose 15 amp saw.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this saw to repair a deck. The old saw I replaced was 2 years old with minimal use and the bearings burn up.The saw hung up a lot.
Used this craftsman saw to repair a deck with lots of cuts.Worked as well as my Milwaukee saw. This was on sale at Lowe’s around Father’s Day so I purchased it.I believe this saw will stand up to the though circumstances I sometimes find myself in.Cutting wet treated lumber is very hard on a circular saw.The price was right.

Saw will not square at 0 degree bevel
It is impossible to get zero (0) degrees, perpendicular cut with this saw. The motor housing interferes with the shoe (base) and the base comes a few degrees short of being exactly square with the blade. The shoe does not come close to touching the bevel adjusting screw because it hits the plastic motor housing. I returned the first one, purchased a second one, exactly the same, looked at the display, exactly the same. Don't believe me, purchase one yourself and check the zero (0) degree bevel with a square. If you do not need to make square cuts, this saw may be for you.

Great Features
I bought this saw two months ago to replace my previous saw which had a bent shoe. I've been a home renovator for about 15 years but recently retired, so this saw is for home projects. I bought it rather than others for a combination of price, features, and Craftsman reputation, I particularly like the 55 degree bevel which was lacking on my previous two saws. In my initial use it appeared to be a capable , accurate saw for medium duty applications. I immediately threw away the 18 tooth blade and replaced it with a 32 tooth blade which I consider the minimum. I had never seen an 18 tooth blade before (cost cutting?). I would consider this a good DIY/householder saw.
