Description

The joint compound from CertainTeed is a pre-mixed vinyl based compounds that requires minimal mixing or thinning. It's part of The Best Mud in the Joint collection. In fact, it really is one of the most efficient products in its class : this 17 L bucket contains enough product to cover 300 sq. ft. This easy-to-apply drywall compound is suitable for taping and finishing of wallboard joints, corner, trims and fasteners. It provides good workability and low shrinkage for the 2nd and finish coats. It may also be used for patch and repair of plaster walls, skim coating and simple texturing. Plus, it's ready mixed to help you save time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Pawelp from Not so good Dries too fast when skim coating.. Does not leave a smooth finish when sanding. The few times I bought this never had good results. Frustrating when you’re doing a quality job for a customer. It looks ok when no direct light, once you put light to it you see that it’s not sanding well. I usually use a different brand on a regular basis and it’s night and day difference… but I didn’t have much choice as this was the only one in stock at at the closest store Rona. And I’m not here to advertise the other brand, just giving an honest opinion about this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Regular Joe from Great Product - Hassle free! Excellent Product. Did a 120 sheet job (4x12 sheets). Used only this mud, and with no thinning. Great for pre-fill, taping, topping, finishing. It seems thick at first, but it thins as you work with it. No need to mix, no dealing with bags and boxes. Convenient pail. Love it. Recommended it to others too. Corners will take 2 days for first coat to fully dry but that's fine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Basement Weekend Warrior from Easy to apply I always used CGC, however seeing the lower price, thought i'd try it. Previous reviews claimed it took longer to dry, and i can attest to that (if you put it on thick). It does skim very easily, and feathers nice also. Found it also sanded a wee bit easier than the CGC all purpose mud. For the price and quantity/quality, it beats the others fairly easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by keep busy during covid from Easy to use This mud is not that much different than others but it's greatest benefit is the packaging. Ready to use ALOT easier than the boxed mud. You can re-seal it and use every drop of it. No waste plus a great bucket for other uses. Thickness is easy to adjust by just adding a touch of water.

No more bag ripping and mud getting all over the place. Plus you have a new pail for other projects once the mud is gone. Great why of packing the product

Rated 5 out of 5 by Oggy from easy to use used this for the first time and found it very nice to work with, just a little mixing as you take out of pail makes it silky smooth, very easy to get a nice smooth finish and sands very easy, Drys overnight for 2nd coat.Much easier to work with than boxes

Rated 5 out of 5 by Douger from Good value Some negative reviews because of too thick but I don't find it is at all. I guess whatever you are used to using. Dried like any other compound. I bought 3 or 4 for a room above the garage so obviously is recommend it.
