Hello Stan, Thank you for your question. The Machine Pro product probably wouldn’t be the best option, unless you are using automatic taping tools. You could use it if they are hand taping, but the product works well with automatic taping tools. Machine Pro is designed for use in all levels of the finishing process, i.e. taping, filling, and finish coats, so it can definitely be used. Since you specifically mention the finish coat, the all-purpose light product may be the better option. The all-purpose light is designed to not shrink as much as other ready-mix compounds, is easier to sand, and easier to work with due to its lighter composition. We cannot speak to the chemical composition, as this is proprietary information, but the all-purpose light is designed more for the finish coats. Overall, either can be used, but if you are only using it for the finish coat, the all-purpose light may be the better option. Please let us know if you have any further questions!
