Description
This CertainTeed gypsum board is specially formulated to have a highly moisture-resistant core. It's perfect to be used for interior walls and ceilings in any standard residential, commercial or institutional applications where resistance to mould growth is important. This panel wicks moisture away to extend the lifespan of your walls and ceilings. It can be used for new construction or renovations over wood or steel framing. The panels can also be finished, painted, textured or wallpapered. Additionally, this product has earned the Greenguard Gold certification that ensures that it won't negatively affect air quality in buildings where it is installed.

Bad product or bad luck with a bad batch?
The back of the sheets had an indentation about one inch wide and about one inch away from the tapered edge of the sheet, on both tapered edges of the sheet, which meant the tapered edge was even more narrow and weaker. And this also resulted in the paper being separated from the gypsum in that location, therefore not providing any structural integrity. See in the photo what looks like bubbles those are air pockets so that edge is incredibly weak because only the front facing paper is providing structure.
Also the gypsum product in between the layers of paper was inconsistently dense, so it didn't break apart in a clean line. It was clumpy, requiring lots of rasping to make the cut edge flat.
Beyond the problem edges the back paper didn't adhere well, such that it separated from the bypsum along a cut line. Photo of that also attached.
I've been drywalling for 15 years to gradually renew all the walls in my prior and current old homes and I've never experienced these problems before. I've never used this particular product m2tech from this particular brand CertainTeed with its blue coloured face paper, i've always used its main competitor with its version of moisture resistant drywall panels that it colours green.
The sheets did not show any obvious water or physical damage when they were delivered so i don't think it's a problem with the store or its delivery. Maybe this was part of a bad batch that didn't get pulled back before it hit the marketplace. In any case my confidence is shaken so i won't buy this brand again.

Seems like a fine product, but need a smaller size
Needed to repair a rotted out patch in my wall. Unfortunately it only comes in huge 4' x 8' sheets. Luckily the warehouse workers helped me cut it up, but they were not happy to have to take time to do this.
