Description

This shallow well jet pump is equipped with a pressure switch for an automatic operation. It has a high performance noryl implier and built-in ejector. It pumps up to 3400 LPHM up to 65 PSI and provides a maximum vertical suction lift of 25'. The motor is built with a voltage selector of 115/230 V and is fan cooled. The rotor shaft and mechanical seal are made of stainless steel.The construction pump body is also made of stainless steel to eliminate corrosion. This product is backed by a 2-year warranty from the date of purchase.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Dusty from Rapid Corrosion Problem [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Installed 2 years ago during a major remodel of home. Love the volume and pressure. However, after only those 2 years it suffered such a serious galvanic corrosion problem that it needed to be replaced.(See photos). The fact that the pump housing is stainless, the motor housing is carbon steel, and it is used in a water environment set the perfect condition for galvanic corrosion to take place. I spent 20 years working with pumps, and valves in a steam and water environment and this is the worst case of this type of corrosion I have ever seen. I contacted the company and they said it was because of the mineral content of my water. All water has mineral content so it will happen no matter where it is installed. The company did replace it but I had to send this one to them at my expense and it had to be received before they would send out replacement. All the while I would have been without water. So this required me to purchase another pump and all the additional hardware to install it. If you buy this, or have it already, remove the pump casing and coat the motor housing with lanocote or it will happen to you. One would think Burcam would have been aware of this problem beforehand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Cal from Excellent Pump-Easy Installation-Great Performance Great pump from BURCAM and great price from LOWES. This pump purchased to replace a 20 year old Sears Craftsman jet pump and tank system. Pump is used at a seasonal lakeside camp in Maine where the pump is drained at the end of each season and left to 'winter over' in the unheated pump shed. Water source is the lake with a 75 foot horizontal 1 inch diameter suction tube and a 10 foot vertical rise from the foot valve to the pump inlet. I'm taking the water from the outlet on the front of the tank and pushing it up about 10 feet to the highest point at the top of the shower head. Installation was simple, swapping out my electrical and water inlet and outlet fittings from the old pump to the new pump. I have PVC unions on both the inlet and outlet water lines and the electrical is 120V flexible 14 gauge plugin. I found it easier to remove the old pump and set it up on the work bench next to the new pump. There I could swap out the electrical and the water inlet and outlet fittings in a comfortable environment. I also checked/set the tank air pressure at 28 psi since the pump's pressure switch is set at 30psi/50psi. The completed pump could then be set in place, unions connected, suction tube and pump primed and power cord plugged in. The pump instantly picked up the prime with immediate water flow. The whole process took about 2 hours working at at a leisurely pace. I now have great water pressure and great water flow.

I tried to repair. notified burcam, I purchased an extended warranty, and they said they have no repair facilities in the usa and if I could sent pictures and pump info, maybe they could send me parts to repair it myself. seems to me, they should replace it, if it can't be properly repaired.

Install wasnt difficult, having to wire a plugin is annoying and it should come with one ready. The pump works as should. Getting 50psi, up from 30. The 2 stars. One of the factory seals leaks slow and steady. None of the good matters if it leaks. Attached a photo of the leak. You can see the water starting to build up for another drip. Dont write off small leaks. They make a big difference.

I replaced another shallow well pump that the motor failed after 1 year. This pump has not lost it's prime like the old one did and has good pressure. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by RJ from Terrible pump It ran well for about half a year and then siezed. Then I got it to turn over and lo and behold I had a leak. This set up was in a heated garage. I took it apart and was a little surprised to find all plastic pump components. Worst pump I have ever bought!
