Rated 5 out of 5 by Ty84 from Great I have tried two kinds of Brita filters: the one you put on the faucet and the pitcher. I couldn't use the faucet one anymore because the faucet wasn't sturdy enough. I tried the pitcher. It was wonderful. Until I started to get the carbon flakes with my second filter and the water tasted funny. I told Brita and they sent me a complementary advanced filter. It is great so far! No more carbon flakes in the water or the reservoir and the water tastes amazing! At first I was worried because the water came out a charcoal gray, but after dumping the first load, it was clear. I flushed it twice more just to be certain. I would recommend this pitcher.

Rated 1 out of 5 by davidsuggitt from new & improved design = reduced effectiveness The new design is more convenient because of the easy to grasp top which makes it easier to change. the water flows much faster through the filter as well, which is nice from a convenience standpoint, but terrible from a water filtration standpoint. The result is water that tastes like slightly improved tap water. So I'll be returning these and I think I'll switch to a large tank filtration system with a mineralizer. Thanks Brita for being the catalyst in this change. Sorry I won't be one of your customers anymore. Bad design...

Rated 3 out of 5 by Suzie from Filters too well [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This filter is more convenient than the older ones in that you don't have to pre-soak for 15 minutes. We didn't notice the water was any better than the old filters but I think it must filter out too much chlorine as after a few weeks (and before it's time to replace the filter), the water starts turning green with algae in the bottom and the whole family gets diarrhea. We keep our filter at room temperature since most of our water is used in the electric kettle for making hot tea, so it is out on the light but not direct sunlight. We preferred the older style that didn't have this problem

Rated 1 out of 5 by kbhunt92345 from The new filter is awful. We have the large dispenser, and we purchased the new replacement filter and it pops out when water is on the top level. Luckily, we were able to find a 3-pack of the prior filter, so we'll be ok for a while. I hope we will be able to go back to the old filter because it works great.

Rated 3 out of 5 by JJ49 from persistant charcoal particiles After many fill-ups I am still seeing alot of charcoal particiles in the white bowl. Is the filter defective or should I expect this indefinitly?

Rated 1 out of 5 by llho from Terrible I hope Brita is reading this. I started using the newly designed filter last week, while I appreciated the no-soaking convenience I am not sure it's working right. A lot of water didn't go through the filter. It leaks right down to the pitcher. What's the point?

Rated 1 out of 5 by John18 from Does not fit properly I have tried every way to fit this new filter to create a good seal and it will not work. Still leaks through so now part of the water is just tap water. Old filter worked fine and never leaked.

Rated 1 out of 5 by nnaa from filter fail the design of the filter is flawed. it pops out of the filter holder of my pitcher with every use - therefore allowing unfiltered water to mix with filtered water every time, totally defeating the purpose of filtering my water. It needs to have some type of twist & lock design to hold it in place. I have owned a brita filter pitcher for as long as I can remember & this last filter design is making me seriously consider switching to a different pitcher & filter system. please tell me a new twist & lock design is already in the works - I can't believe this is happening only to me...
