Description
Drive nails into 1 1/2-in to 2-in flooring with this Bostitch flooring nailer. Its interchangeable base plates hold up different flooring breadths. This 2-in-1 nailer features a mallet-actuated pneumatic driving action for maximum performance. It's light and has a long handle with a rubber grip for simplified usage.
- Drives 15.5-gauge staples and 16-gauge "L" shape cleat nails from 1-1/2-in to 2-in length
- Mallet actuated pneumatic driving action
- Non-marring, interchangeable base plates for 1/2-in (12.7 mm) through 3/4-in (19.1 mm) flooring
- Includes tool, mallet, oil, wrenches, 1/4-in (6.4 mm) air fitting
- Ergonomically designed with longer handle and a comfortable rubber grip

What gauge are the Bostich flooring cleats?
Most staples and cleats are marked 15.5 gauge which work for the 16 gauge gun. Its standard for all flooring staplers.

I just purchased the Bostitch item 572656 3 tool compressor. Is this compatable with the Bostitch 2 in1 floor nailer, item 689186. The compressor list 2.7 scfm at 90 psi.
Yes that 6 Ga compressor works with this floor nailer without any issue.

Does this tool work on engineered flooring
This would work well on 3/4 inch engineered wood. 1/2 inch engineered flooring would require an 18 gauge nailer to avoid damaging the tongue.

Yes (according to the fastener specification quoted in the manual) Never tried myself. This nailer is very good and reliable.

Quite expensive but a good nailer.
The staple cartridge was different from the prior nail gun I had but was fine after getting used to it. I like the fact that the hammer was a little lighter and was made if a white rubber material - helped to nit make dark marring on walls when in close proximity. The gun itself seemed a lighter than my period gun as well. Overall, very satisfied with this flooring nailer.

Failed to work right out of the box
Bought nailer and couldn’t close the magazine after loading staplers. Returned it and got the last one on the shelf….opened it AT the register to make sure it would work and IT DIDN’T. Can’t believe these would be sent out to retailers without some quality control or testing.

Lowe’s sold heavily used product as new
So disappointed in Lowe’s for selling me a heavily used/damaged product as new! I saw the box was damaged at time of purchase but didn’t think much of it. Then, just as I started my job I got out the tool only to find it dirty and damaged. I had to stop work and lose the afternoon driving back to Lowe’s to deal with their carelessness.

Bought the Bostich 2n1 Flooring Nailer on sale for $249 + tax to install 400 SF of Engineered Wood 5.5" x 5/8", bought cleat nails (Paslode 16a 2" x1000) and nailed approx. every 6-8". No issues whatsoever, once I figured out how to load the cleats! Squeezed a drop of oil into the tool air connector each day I used it (oil provided with tool). Avoid rushing the nailing process, ensure that the tool is located (set) properly before striking with the mallet, as the base can easily slide out of position on the flooring.
