Description
Execute clean and precise tile and glass drilling with the Bosch drill bit. Its extra-sharp edges help drill a hole in bathroom tiles. The high-quality carbide tipped drill bit with a reinforced head is difficult to crack. Its three flat shanks provide grip to prevent the bit from slipping. A special centreing tip ensures the tile drill bit doesn't skate. The 4 in L x 1/4 in dia high-speed steel bit drills up to a depth of 3 1/4 in.

Works well if you know how to use it
These are made for glass and ceramic tile. Not suitable for porcelain. If you are drilling porcelain you should be using a drill with continuous water flow. This bit will heat up, like any drill bit going through dense material. Keep a wet rag handy to cool the tip everyone 5 seconds or so. The first time I used one, it blew apart because I let it overheat. The one I'm using now has drilled at least 100 holes.

Save your money
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 20 minutes to make one hole, killed 2 bits. These things are garbage.

Piece of Junk. Buy a different brand
I bought this Bosch 1/4" glass and porcelain bit Saturday morning to finish up a shower installation in my bathroom. Finally get to point of drilling the tiles and the bit failed after only one hole. The carbide split away from the drill body. Now I have to wait another week to finish the renovation and another trip one hour out of my way to return and get a replacment. Won't be a Bosch brand though.

Works well if used correctly...
You can do it 2 ways, slow and steady way, drill for a few seconds, dip the bit in water. 2nd option, much quicker, have a person continuously spray the hole while your drilling. Drilled 8 holes tonight through porcelain tiles in under 10 minutes and bit still doesn't walk and it still drills quickly.

Worst Tile bit ever.
Hard to start as the Bit walks across the tile. Was able to drill half a hole before the bit rounded itself and became useless. Will return.
