It's Very Good
This is a very good cordless sander. It feels good in the hand and it's very handy. The runtime with a 4Ah battery is more than adequate for most things I'd use a cordless sander for. The reason I give it 4/5 stars is if you hook it up to a vacuum or dust extractor the suction causes the sander to be pushed too tightly to the surface and then catches the grain of the wood and causes it to move somewhat unpredictably over the work piece. This issue isn't present using the dust bag. There really should be some pressure relief, as even a moderately strong vacuum is too much suction to allow the sander to move smoothly over the surface.

BOSCH - as expected!
Excellent cordless sander - did everything I needed it for.... PLUS a long-lasting 18V battery AND charger that was included FREE with the purchase. My old go-to power tool company was Milwaukee - 3/8" corded electric drill, Sawzall, etc., but I wasn't too impressed by the 'glitzing' up of their cordless tools. I also thought Milwaukee was getting a bit expensive because of their name, so I tried the 12 volt 3/8" cordless PS31 drill and thought it was fantastic. Also bought a 'Colt' router and a miter slide saw. They are all excellent.

best sander to use for most projects now
Okay the sander has heavy build, it is also very well balanced it is the best with a 4 amp slim battery. The power is better then or the same as a corded sander. I have ran it witha 6 amp hour battery. The dust collecter is nice and out of the way it is easy to move around. Pad is also flat the speed control us nice the sander overall has little vibartion.

Easy to control
It was a refined sander if there is such a thing. It was easy to control yet had plenty of power. My PC sander jumps when you start using it has a lot of vibration. This Bosch is a very good sander.

Bosch nailed it with this sander
I replaced my 18 year old Bosch corded sander with this one and it is hands down the best sander I have ever owned. The vibration is almost non existent, I love the brushless motor. When I turn it off it stops immediately. If you are in the market for a sander you will definitely be happy with this tool.
It is perfectly balanced and runs very smooth.
I absolutely love this sander.

Love this sander! Ditching my Dewalt 20V sander.
I have a Dewalt 20V sander and here is my comparison:
The GEX 18V-125 is much less noisy.
The GEX 18V-125 has much less vibration.
The GEX 18V-125 is better balanced
The GEX 18V-125 has better visibility without the body of the sander blocking your view.
After using the Dewalt for an extended time, my hands would tingle for 1/2 hour after using due to the vibration. I needed to wear hearing protection with the noisy Dewalt and the Dewalt would spew dust everywhere, even with a clean filter bag, so I always needed to hook the Dewalt up to my vacuum when sanding indoors. What the Bosch doesn't catch in the filter bag is mostly left on the wood surface, while the Dewalt blows that dust in the air due to the strong air stream the motor produces with the exhaust port location directly above the sanding pad.
IMO, there is no comparison as the Bosch GEX 18V-125 seems better built and sanding is enjoyable without extreme noise, high vibration and poor dust collection. It is very comfortable and sanding seems almost surgical as the Dewalt feels like your hanging on to a screaming vibrating block of yellow plastic that needs to be moved out of the way to see your progress.
The Dewalt will be given to my son.
If considering a cordless orbital 5" sander, buy the GEX 18V-125. You won't be disappointed!

They engineered it perfectly!
Definitely one of the best sanders out. Very low profile. well balanced surprisingly with the 4mah battery being offset. No complaints so far.

Closest to traditional pneumatic feel
Of all the 18v D/A sanders...this one has the lowest profile...coming closest to mimicking traditional pneumatic sanders. I have not tried the dust collection, but the feel and balance of this tool is the best i have tried, and this makes my 3rd D/A sander.
