Description
This Bernzomatic Reach Torch is equipped with an adjustable swirl flame and a continuous flame lock option. It also has a flexible hose and fuel holster and is pressure regulated for inverted use, making overhead and extended-reach work easier. It's ideal for small to large diameter soldering, large-surface work, metalworking, brazing and woodworking projects. This Reach torch is compatible with Bernzomatic MAP-Pro fuel and Bernzomatic propane fuel, sold separately.

Best torch out there.
I've owned three of these torches. The first two were so good, they walked off the job. The hose is a blessing because most of the work I do is inside walls and on old work. Not having the bottle attached directly to the torch reduces fatigue, allows me to work in tight areas, and for the first several years of use the igniter was very reliable. I don't like piezoelectric igniters in general because it will occasionally take multiple trigger pulls to igniter the gas, so a battery powered igniter would be amazing. Especially for high altitude work. I can't speak to the holster because it went in the trash on the first day. I have yet to do a job where a bottle holster would've made the job easier or more convenient. On a few occasions I've stuck the gas bottle in my pocket, which is good enough for five minutes of soldering up high. Overall an excellent tool that's far superior in quality, and lower in price than its competitors. I highly recommend.

Torch is good but carry case is poorly designed
Good day all. I gave this review a 2 star rating because the main selling point of this torch set is not just the torch but the "handy" gas bottle holder that comes with it. Like I said in the headline, the torch is fine, but the holder really needs to be re-designed. My main disagreement with the holder is the placement of the belt clip. The belt clip is placed BELOW the balance point of the bottle with the torch attached. The weight of the bottle, brass valve and the hose outweigh the bottom of the bottle and make it TOP heavy. The top of the case wants to go over (about the belt attach point) and so it seems to rock back and forth on a smaller belt or if you just quickly clipped it onto the pocket of your coveralls. This could have been a 5 star review if the case were designed a bit better. My solution was to bend some metal rod the same was as the original holder only about 1/2 a gas cylinder longer, so the valve is about where the belt clip is. I ground off the rivets and attached my new "cage" with a couple of #8 fasteners. In conclusion, the torch is good and starts with the trigger most of the time, and shuts off promptly when you release the trigger. The carry case could use a redesign. I recommend the torch but not so much the kit accessories.

This is the best torch for my plumbing needs
I love this torch because of its easy handling and mobility. It's great for heating up fittings in hard to reach areas. The main thing I like about this torch is how quickly I can get my work done. There is no fumbling around with a bottle attachment and it lites so easily. It also extinguishes just as easy. My favorite.

Great torch, poorly designed holster
I use this to light my charcoal grill. The torch works well, but the holster for the cylinder is VERY POORLY designed.

Works good
Used to solder 0/2 cable and heat rusted parts to loosen them works great for me haven't used the map gas in it yet I'm sure it will work just as good with it though. Had one similar to this ten, twelve years ago.

Perfectly suited for purpose
The purpose of this product is to allow carrying of the fuel cylinder and a hose-connected torch on one's belt or similar. It has a convenient belt hook (but you'll want to hang it on a very wide, strong belt) that actually works. The hose is more than long enough, and the piezoelectric start works well as long as you remember to give the torch head enough fuel. With all that said, the heat it delivers depends on the kind of fuel you choose. I run mine with MAPP or propane, and have absolutely zero complaints about the heat it delivers. It's not enough to weld with (no non-forced oxygen mix system will be), but is certainly enough to solder pipe, blast paint, ignite and fill other expected uses of a torch+fuel combination of this kind.

Do not use, terrible product
Bought it thinking it would be super convenient, but was incredibly disappointed. The internal strike quit on me after three uses. Stay away.

Torch will not ignite
I try to use my torch the other day and it would not self ignite. I did not see a way to take it apart to clean/repair. It is used very little since this is not my full time job. I am a DIY home owner but it is convenient with the self igniter when I am soldiering pipes. If I can get it working it would be a 5 stars, but since it is not very old when it stop working it is a 1 star
