After rummaging around in a bin of random parts at Rona and measuring the drains I found, I found this one (PP826-20), 1-7/8" OD, 11.5 TPI, exactly what I needed. I couldn't find this size on the actual racks, and the packaging doesn't have the size mentioned on it at all, so I thought I'd note that here for y'all. It's not quite as depicted in the photo, the plug's "shaft" is thinner than in the photo. Overall quality seems quite good for the price. I can not guarantee that this package contained the part it says it did though, it had been opened and resealed before I found it.

I was however unable to thread it into the ABS drain elbow. The old strainer had a tapered thread and the new one didn't. I believe this was the reason for my not being able to thread the new strainer in
