This product looks absolutely stunning on the wall as a fireplace surround. We ordered 10 boxes online to start as there was no stock in store that day, but 9/10 boxes had to be returned to the store because they were broken. So thankfully we could pick up another 9 boxes as the store had stock again. Make sure you check each box for broken pieces before leaving.
The stone was easy to cut on a table tile saw but very dirty compared to ceramic tile. Sometimes if cutting a small piece, the stone will come apart from the glue. So when we did small pieces we did them into a tiny corner and it looked very natural.
We used type N mortar to apply to the wall. We first applied an aluminum mesh and used kerdi board washers and screws to install. We have plaster walls so it went right into the lath.
The look is super natural. I would say the price was fair on sale with 20% off. Right now it has a strong earthy smell in the house but that will go away with time.
