Can this unit be set up to stay in window year round? the current one i have has been in the window for a few decades. i no longer have the window. or is it required to e removed during winter?

I purchased this unit two years ago. The inside is badly rusting. Called the company and got a file number hopping this was a anomaly and would be covered by wanrrant. Well all I got was sorry bet rust is not covered, on top of that unit is designed that water stays trapped on the bottom of unit causing it to rust. I will not install for a third year as the cooling fan blows rusted water all over my windows, walls and roof. May seem like a small problem but removing rust from window frame and wall is no easy task. Will definitelly stay away from Arctic King and Midia products as both are manufactured by the same company.

Size & shape works great for me, so far so good
I picked this up 2 days ago at Lowe's and installed it carefully on a suspended custom made board and it sits rightly. For window ac of its size, the noise level is better than what I expected. A 10K BTU but covers up to 450sqm that was a catch for me with regards to power savings and good efficiency mainly for my 18'.4" x 19'.6" living room with open stair way to bedrooms that are closed when in operation. It cools the living area in few minutes and slowly spread up the stairway. I hope it lasts and maintains the cooling power. No drainage hole at the rear, water stores in the base and it is picked by the fan and lightly splashed against the condenser inside. I was worried if water will get into the electrical fittings or do I need to drill a hole?

Very Powerful Unit
I bought this unit a week ago and it has been able to maintain 20c in my 400 sqft 3.5 top floor apartment and to all saying that this unit makes ice that is correct only for any ac this applies does not matter the btu's it has to with setting to lowest coldest temp during a heatwave you should be lucky to maintain 20-21c when its 30c + outside the point is if you dont set the ac temperature to match the actual room temperature the condenser will just begin to freeze up and start chucking ice pellets through the vent this happens when the air going into the unit get too cold.
I 100% recommend for anyone looking for a vertical unit to give this unit a try

Not as good as expected
This is the only air con that fit in our narrow window. It will lower temperature as expected but where it falls short is with the supposed dehumidifier feature. When you set to auto it lowers the humidity in the first half hour then humidity increases and even surpasses the original reading which in my case is usually over 70%. Manual says it dehumidifies. When I contacted support they said the unit was an air conditioner not a dehumidifier. So if you're looking to lower humidity as well as lower temperature look elsewhere.
