In AC mode, can I attach the hose to the "Continuous drain hose" near the middle of the unit, and leave this to drain to a bucket? Or will I need to eventually remove the bottom drain plug even though I'm using the continuous drain hose? Thank you!
Hello, KaiChan. Thank you for your question about the Arctic King 8,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner. When you are using the continuous drain hose, it would be during dehumidifying modes, remove the drain plug from the back of the unit. When the water level of the bottom tray reaches a predetermined level, the unit beeps 8 times, the digital display area shows “P1”. At this time, the air conditioning/dehumidification process will immediately stop. However, the fan motor will continue to operate(this is normal). Carefully move the unit to a drain location, remove the bottom drain plug and let the water drain away. Reinstall the bottom drain plug and restart the machine until the “P1” symbol disappears. Blows cold air, a little loud
This is my 2nd one, I have an 8000BTU arctic king for my living room and liked it enough to get this one for our master bedroom. People who say it leaks must not realize it also comes with a hose to self drain, remove the plug and get a bucket. Way easier than bringing it somewhere and tipping it over to drain. It's easy to set up the timer, you can set it up to turn on in say 2 hrs then turn off in 5 hrs. Only complaint is how loud it is, in the living room it isn't too bad but in the bedroom it definitely has a roar. Didn't bother me enough to keep me awake tho, I could fall asleep fine, and much better than a hot room. Would recommend.

OK at dehumidifying
Purchased July 7 2020 in the middle of a heat wave. All other brands and models were stocked out at the time. Shipped by UPS from Winnipeg store to Toronto address. Took about 10 business days, even with Covid backlog so shipping time seemed reasonable.
Had to modify window exhaust to fit a window that is about 24 inches wide horizontally. Seemed designed for vertical window openings, but will fit gigantic windows.
It pumps out dry air at 70 F. Have an LG unit in the other room that pumps out 50 F dry air. Much cooler in the other room.
It helps keep the room a little less humid, but does not really pull down temperature. It should probably be marketed as a dehumidifer, cause it is not exactly cool IMHO.
I'll probably return it when LG one comes back in stock.

Does the job.
Works fine. I have it in my bedroom and it is usually only ever on at night. It is a recent purchase so I'm not sure how long it will last. Some reviews say it broke after a year or two, although there are for sure people out there who are running this thing 24/7. My expectation was that it could cool a normal closed door room for eight hours and it does that.

Easy set-up & worked great.
Bought last night for daughter's room. Anticipating another hot summer and tired of fighting to install/uninstall my old window a/c, it was a bonus to get this on sale! As a solo parent, I needed a unit I could get home & up 2 flights of stairs by myself - at 50 lbs this was manageable. Setup was incredibly simple (ignore the quick set up instructions - they were worse than the booklet), the unit was relatively quiet, and it cooled off whole upper floor (~450 sq ft).

Great Product
I bought this AC unit last year for our two bedroom apartment, which is roughly 800 square feet. Very easy to set up, and blows cold air. We have two dogs, and I am pregnant this year, and we love it. Actually just buying another one now for our bedroom.

Summer #3 and it’s not working
First of all I bought this unit at the brick but it’s the same unit, nothing against Lowe’s. Just started using for the third summer and it’s not cooling. Dissapointing to spend $350 and have stop working this soon. We don’t run it very long here in Victoria and i need to go buy another one already.

Only good as a powerful fan
I returned this thing within a week. Very easy set up and great features but it fails to actually cool the air which is the one thing I needed it to do. If you want a powerful fan get this, otherwise please don't waste your time! Ask the Rona employees, I heard they are getting multiple returns of this unit for the same reason.
