Rated 5 out of 5 by marilyn1815 from This product is the greatest. I bought a house where the previous owner had 20 bazillion cats. They peed all over the floors and even sprayed on the base boards. I tried everything (coffee, baking soda, pure bleach, pinesol and every other cleaner known to man) and nothing worked. You could still smell that odor. A friend of mine recommended Kilz. I tried it and with 1 coat, the odor was gone. I just poured it on my wooden floors and used my mop to distribute it. I used a paintbrush to paint the baseboards with it. It worked like a charm. I have recommended it to everyone since that use. Great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by paintrboy from Finally, a true water-based shellac! Tried the "new" Kilz Max on some 40 year old and 1 year old Nova Scotia pine interior walls (a cottage). I was a little skeptical at first application as the knots began to show a yellow hue, but after the second coat and 2 coats of Benjamin Moore's Regal eggshell.......NO knot bleed-through at all! HooRay! No more smelly, dries in 15 minutes, BIN primer. I've been a painting contractor for the last 23 years and this Kilz Max product will be my go-to primer for knots and heavy stains and I'll sill use the Kilz premium for all other priming duties. I've used the Premium on exteriors for 6 years now with no issues at all. Great product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are selling our house, and had an old dog who constantly went potty in the same room. Regardless of how many times we had it cleaned it was still a lingering nightmare. Upon ripping up the carpet and padding, the subfloor showed the damage. We used an enzyme cleaner, and followed up with a coat of Kilz restoration primer once the floor was dry. I can not believe the results!!! No more urine smell!! This stuff is fantastic!! I highly recommend this to anyone trying to seal out ANY pet odor!! This Primer was not only a life saver, but saved our pockets tremendously by not having to replace the entire subfloor!!!

I HAVE cats and dogs and KILZ MAX also seals pet and smoke odors.I recommend this to anyone!!You can Topcoat with latex or oil-base paint. properly prepared interior surfaces, such as: brick, ceramic tile, drywall, glass, masonry, painted metal, plaster, stucco and wood. this is an awesome product!!!!!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For three year I complained about the chocolate and mocha colored stripe scheme the previous owner of our house had painted the entire open floorplan (downstairs) with. This year my husband gifted me with 5 gallons of Kills. I immediately went to go. Kills covered the circus-y eyesore, period. The chocolate stripes are gone and in its place is now a beautiful buttery cream. No lines show through, no hint of past tape lines, marks or shadows. In places it took two coats for before I was comfortable putting the new paint went on – but that was probably just my own hesitancy in trusting Kills to do its job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Allstarpainting from Good sealer and bonding primer. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used this twice over the past few jobs. First job was a smoker's house at least 10 years. The walls were flat paint so no chance of washing. The kilz max waterborne sealed it perfectly. I did let it dry overnight before top coating. I have just tried it out on cabinets and it was dry and able to sand within the hour! Powders up very nicely, bonded well. Tips: stir it very well and often. It can dry out so move rather quickly. Do not mix with any other paint! If you cover a water stain on ceiling. Two coats and let it dry overnight before topcoat.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My cat decided to use the concrete basement floor as her litter box repeatedly for months. I tried everything to rid the house of the odor and wasted a lot of money. I eventually was told about your product by cashier at Home Depot. All I can say is amazing. I didn't think I would ever get rid of the cat urine smell. My house no longer smells like cat urine. Words can not express how relieved I am to be able to breathe again in my home. Thank you for creating such a wonderful product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m painting the interior of a house for a customer before she moves in after her father and grandfather lived and smoked in the house for years. I’m applying KilzMax to all surfaces that are going to be white. Ceilings and all trim. I’ve seen reviews where people had success covering nicotine with just one coat, but I’m using two to be safe. Two coats of KillzMax, two coats of white paint, and everything looks great! Bright white! The neighbor came over and checked out my work and asked me to check out his house. He’s a heavy smoker as well, and my quote will include two coats of KillzMax on everything.
