Rated 3 out of 5 by Mandrake from Not as well designed as it should be The strip I purchased was to provide a link between two slightly different levels of flooring. The one room had ceramic tiles and the adjoining room vinyl tiles, hence a small step that needed to be covered. Step one was to cut the strip to the correct length, having first removed the plastic section with the self-adhesive surface, which I cut to size separately. I then replaced the plastic strip and laid the metal where the vinyl and ceramic tiles met. The self-adhesive section of the plastic strip did not even reach the floor, so proved totally useless and I had to complete the job by screwing the metal strip to the floor, which was totally contrary to the original concept of having no screw heads showing. This would appear to be a design fault and needs to be adjusted, otherwise I have little doubt that other purchasers will run into the same problem. The actual extruded aluminium used for the door strip is sturdy and quite substantial. The concept of a self-adhesive method attaching the strip to the floor is good - the mechanics however are not.
