Description

Filtrete's Smart Air filter by 3M attracts and captures particles such as bacteria, viruses, mould spores, and pollen to create cleaner, fresher air that meets the highest air filtration standards around. This particular model measures 20 inches by 20 inches and boasts an MPR of 1900. It's equipped with a Bluetooth-enabled sensor that you can pair with your iOS or Android smart device to check things like filter life and when your filter needs to be replaced. It can even tell you your specific filter type and size, and you can get notifications about when and where to purchase replacement filters.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Erikthered from Bluetooth often drops connectivity to my ipad I am an early adopter of smart filter technology but this product Bluetooth is inconsistent and drops connectivety for weeks. Good concept buy poor implementation. Thread network connectivity would solve this connection issues.

I had trouble pairing my original filter, so I called 3M, which led to receiving a new filter. The pairing is fairly easy, but the app instructions don't tell you that in order to get the best results & for your filter to update, you need to keep the app open, the Bluetooth of your phone on, and your location on the highest setting. Ive had my filter for 3 months and when I got the message that my filter was at 0% I changed my filter, although the filter was NOT dirty at all. So I think there's a lot of potential, and it does remind you to change your filter, I'm not sure it's worth the extra cost.

The app is easy to use.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Flltrete14149 from same great filter I always buy [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchase this same style filter for my furnace 4 times a year, I love it, works great, I actually modified my furnace with a bigger blower motor to handle the restriction this puts on the appliance, this helps with the dust in my house, This 3m connect filter though is only using time as a way of determining replacement, I received this filter free for review in march, It is still the quality filter i expect from 3m but it does not have many hours on it at all, the app is telling me to replace it immediately but it does not have many hours on it since install I do not have central A/C so my furnace does not run in the summer, the smart app has said I needed a new filter since june, I find that hard to believe and looking at the filter i know it is not true. Great idea with a Great filter but Im not gonna go buy a new filter just cause an app told me to, especially when it looks and operates as new, Thanks 3m,

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Once i got this product home and started the app i then realized that I should not have paid more for something i had no trouble with doing before! This product does NOT check your air quality! Even though the packaging leads you to believe it does! I monitor my filters regularly, but apparently all i paid for is an overpriced method of keeping up with when the manufacturer says it should be changed (NOT EVEN WHEN THE FILTER IS EXHAUSTED! ) Filtrete needs to blatantly say that this filter DOES NOT MEASURE AIR QUALITY! What a complete waste of my money!

My husband was able to connect to it once and never again. I wasn't able to connect at all. I really wanted this to work because I thought knowing the air quality in my house would be helpful. I received this product free from 3m in exchange for my review.
