pointless cap-covered hole pried off by animal
There's a circular cap on the top of the lid covering a circular hole. I have not figured out the point of it. An animal first chewed some of the cap, then pried it off. I keep finding the cap on the ground then push it back on over the hole, but it is then again pried off. This is a pretty new can-about 6 months old. I hate to tape the cap back on which will look shoddy, but the open hole will let rain in. I would love to know the point of this cap-covered hole. Other than that, it has looked good but will not when taped. It is lightweight and sturdy.

It keeps the racoons out very well
It is light and the lid works very well. It is a real shame that they removed the wheels as they are important to the can. It has a very thin bottom and if you drag it it will wear out very fast. So you must pick it up and carry it to the curb.

Great can - terrible animal prevention features
I purchased this can at the beginning of December. Within a week the plastic screws that hold the rubber handles to the can had broken. I purchase some machine bolts and cap screws to replace them, and then one of the rubber pieces broke. Essentially I paid extra for a regular garbage can because the animal prevention features are no good.

Handles break
A month after purchase, one of the clamp down, bungee attach handles was broken by the garbage collectors who throw down the lid. Now, a year later, they've broken the second handle.

If you live near wild animals try these.
We have lived in the forest for 9 years. This is the only trash can we use. Keeps out the small animals with ease. Work well against raccoons. We even had a bear roll one up the hill to try and get into it and gave up. If you don't want to try the expensive cans that are up to 10 times the price, try these.
