Nailer / Stapler is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 981.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poorly Designed This stapler has plenty of force to shoot the staples but is poorly designed. Working overhead at angles the stapler will catch on the side and will not push down. You must be straight on top of the stapler or it will not work. Lord forbid trying to stretch over and staple one last staple before you climb down from a ladder. Mine also started malfunctioning after only a couple of years. I still have most of the two boxes of staples that I originally purchased with the stapler so just sitting there for most of those two years. Finally stopped working today right in the middle of putting in some insulation in my storage room.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Stapler in history I lost a Craftsman Stapler of similar design that I had had for years. I thought since the design was similar that this would be a good purchase. Wrong! If you drive three staples in a row without a jammed staple, it's nigh on a miracle. This is made in the US. That means absolutely nothing! Save your money! The first jammed staple, I should have returned it rather than trying different brands of staples. All I use it for is stapling paper targets to cardboard at the shooting range. Not stapling into oak, hickory, or even pine. Would return it except I got irate and threw it down and busted the handle. I think I will use it as a target and finally get some satisfaction out of this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I LOVE this stapler FIRST, let me say my use is for stretching artist's canvas on stretcher bars. I can stretch the canvas with one hand (the most difficult part) and, thanks to the ease of shooting, light weight and wonderful ergonomic design, drive the staples quickly and easily into the bars. I have small hands and some wrist issues, so this stapler has been a blessing. I have used it for other similar projects with screening material and fabrics, but haven't used brads or in a heavy-duty situation, so I can't address that, but for my purposes, this little gem is worth it's weight in gold.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Get what you pay for The idea of being able to squeeze down TOWARD what you are stapling really appealed to me, as I had to install screening material on an entire 16x18' porch. However, it quickly became evident to me why they sell boxes of staples for this thing numbering in the thousands - it is because the gun jams so often that 80% of the staples end up being wasted and lost on the floor or ground. The darn things jammed so often that within a half hour I abandoned this new "easier to use" model and went back to using the shiny, hard on your hand model, just so I could finish in the same day. I have to return this guy now - what a waste of my time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This 5700 powershot stapler is worst purchase ever I bought this stapler 2 yrs ago, only used it about 5-6 times. It broke inside. Didn't have receipt so I bought another. It will not work right out of the package! The staples that are sold for it will jam over each other. This is a poor quality stapler with a high price. Black & Decker (who makes this stapler) told me to take it back to Lowe's. Oh I will and I will not buy another one. There must be no quality control making these. Do not buy this piece of junk. If you do you will be sorry, sorry, sorry!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not durable I owned my original PowerShot for about 15 years and I suffered through quite a few jams in the last two years. It broke recently stapling cardboard target backers on the range. I took it apart when I got home and found what part broke. I'm very surprised that it hadn't broke early as the internal parts are cheap castings and stamped metal. It isn't a bad design, just poorly executed part quality. For the money buy something else.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bought two, no more. I bought one and used it until it totally jammed. Wasted time trying to repair it. Went and bought another to finish the job and it also continued to misfire and wouldn't shoot the last 10-15 staples. It is too bad that this tool doesn't work like it is designed to. It is a great design for people who have arthritis and is easy to use. If they ever get the bugs out of the tool, it would be worth it. Until then, it is a waste of money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good design, bad quality. I bought this product because I saw it to be rugged and it was made in the USA. Well, rugged it's not, you can't go through a clip of staples without it jamming up several times (staples used Power Shot Heavy Duty Staples item #97006). In the last jam up (4th staple clip) I heard a loud snap from inside the stapler and the handle lost it's tension to reload, being it was useless, I took it apart only to find that a plastic part fell out in two pieces when I separated the two halves. The inside looks raw and unfinished like the stuff you get from China with a Made in USA label. Don't waste your hard earned money on this product.
