Pop-Out Outlet is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Performs as advertised ... but not an easy install First, the good things. Once installed, the outlet looks great. I replaced existing side outlets on a kitchen island, and they are so much better looking than the old 'normal' outlets. The pop out mechanism works as advertised, and we really like having the third outlet. Now the 'not so good things'. Not bad things, just not so good. First, installation was a nightmare. These are HUGE and don't fit in standard metal 1 gang boxes that Lowes sells and was already installed in the island. Even the standard plastic ones are too small. I had to buy extended plastic boxes, which I don't like because they are flimsy. Plus, because it's a kitchen island install, we are required to use metal conduit to protect the wires, meaning drilling holes in the plastic. Not a big deal .. until install time comes around. There is very little room even in the extended boxes for two conduit connectors, the wires, ground wire nut, and the outlet. I had to use metal crimp ground connectors instead of the wire nut. Even then it was difficult getting the outlet situated past the conduit ends. I'm a little nervous about the actual pop-out, especially in a plastic existing-construction box that isn't solidly nailed down, but held by wings against the sidewall. There is a bit of torque when plugging in and taking the plug out. I've asked my wife to support the outlet with her hand when using it because of it. I might go back and run some better supports around the box so I can nail it down. All that being said, if they hold up I do think they are worth the trouble. It took me over two hours to get the first one installed because of all of the issues (this doesn't include going back to Lowes to get the plastic boxes.) The second one only took a half hour, but the package claims 'easy installation'. But they do look great, and add an extra outlet. I would buy them again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hiden Duple looks great! I was surprised to find out that the Square Duplex did not come with the outer cover. How do we supposed to know? in terms of ease of installation I would not know! I'm getting an electrician to install it for $69

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Attractive & Safe I'm renovating a 60+ year old house and for some reason they installed an outlet 3' up the wall where my kitchen table sits. I was going to remove it but discovered it was quite handy when I wanted to use electrical appliances on the table. It wasn't very attractive and I worried about the grandkids and their inquisitive ways, so I bought the Legrand pop-out outlet. I did discover afterwards that it requires a very deep work box, so I had to replace the old box with a new one. Once that was done it was a snap putting in the new outlet. I am absolutely a novice when it comes to DIY projects around the house, but I thought I'd give this a try. I read the instructions (several times) and also referenced the video on the Legrand website. The entire process took less than 30 minutes and the results are amazing. Even my electrician (who's doing the more serious work) was impressed with the product and my budding DIY skills. It's also quite the conversation piece when guests come to visit. One word of advice: it's wise to consult with a salesperson in the store to be sure you purchase everything you need to install both the outlet and the cover plate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for the kitchen We remodeled our condo, and had an area that needed a plug , but we only use it for mixers etc when cooking but not all the time. So we put a push plug in and it has three outlets

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great addition to my home I’ve been slowly changing all the outlets and switches in my home to the legrand series and it has made such a difference to the overall look. I purchased this one so I wouldn’t have an outlet in the middle of my wall and it pops out when I need to use it. Great look. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Total Garbage No where near worth the price. Incredibly difficult to install.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too large Device barely fits into a standard device box opening. If there are any other wires in the box, this outlet may be to deep to fit as well.
