Great value and easy to assemble
I bought this firetable on sale a couple months ago and am very pleased with how easy it was to assemble. I'm not particularly handy, so this product fit the bill in terms of assembly.
We've used the table a few times since assembling it. The table puts out a decent amount of heat (don't put your wine glass to close to the fire!). If you're sitting close to the table, you will feel it, but in my view, it's a bit more decorative than functional, which is fine - I'm not expecting it to heat a patio.
I chose this table because I did not want to deal with all the issues I've read about with firetables made from synthetic stone product. An all-metal table meant - to me - there would be fewer weather/climate-related issues. If properly protected, all I have to worry about is the potential for rust.
I would recommend this product to anyone who wants an easy to assemble, stylish firetable.
As this is shipped direct to your door, take your time and inspect every panel CAREFULLY before you start assembling it. My first table had a dent in a side panel and the table top, but Lowes accepted the return with my online purchase confirmation email. I re-ordered the table online a couple weeks later when it was on sale again.
My auto-starter is a little finicky; generally I have to try it two or three times before it kicks in, but that is not a massive inconvenience and may be an isolated issue with my table. It is the reason I gave the table 4 stars instead of 5, though.
Even assembled, it's quite light and manouverable - so long as there is no tank inside! Decide where you want to place it BEFORE you put the tank in the base. I would NOT recommend trying to lift or move this table with a propane tank installed.
While the wind has never blown out the flame, it's certainly made it dance a lot. For that reason, I am considering the purchase of a tempered glass fire screen. While not necessary, I think it will look very nice and keep the flames a little more under control.
BUY A COVER! I can't stress this enough. You've spent at least a couple hundred dollars on this table; order a cover to protect it. I found that a waterproof air conditioner cover was cheaper and does a great job. Keep it covered when not in use.
Also, remember that the table has to cool off before putting the fire lid (or a fabric cover) on the table. This can take a while if it's not chilly out.
