This is is such a brilliant product. I'm using it to strip away many, many layers of lead paint from a 120-year old pine staircase. You do have to be very aware of how long you apply the product. For example, on my stairs there are some patches of wood without as much paint or which are bare. If you apply Peelaway 1 to the entire surface - the thick areas of paint as well as the thinner areas - it will eat through the thin areas quickly and makes the wood very delicate and soft. But - to get the thick areas off you do have to leave it for the full 24 hours. So I would recommend applying differently to different sections/thicknesses of paint - or, if like me you just want to get it done fast - be VERY careful when you scrape off the soft areas of wood so you don't damage them and be sure to rinse very thoroughly after.
One comment is that the first time I got this, Rona sold me a tub that had already been opened. It was missing the neutralizer, instructions, ph-testing strips, and application tools. Because it was the first time I'd used it I didn't know these things were missing until I bought a second tub and realized it was supposed to come with more. The first tub, because it had been opened, was pretty dried out and I didn't get much coverage at all. The subsequent unopened buckets have given me good coverage. Very annoying. Just be aware of what should be in the tub so you have everything you need, ESPECIALLY the neutralizer. It has taken about 4 tubs to do 15 stairs, probably could have only taken 2 or 3 if not for the challenges with the first tub.

Used It to strip 100 years of paint off our door frames and baseboards, worked like a charm, you must follow the instructions clearly and neutralize the wood after (product supplied in bucket). Saved us soooooo much time. We are off to buy more for next room. We needed about 3 buckets to do all baseboards and door frames in a 10x14 room.

DO NOT USE ON WOOD!!
Ruined my cabinet, had to replace! Used this before on concrete and worked awesome so decided to use on wood. Warped the wood and turned it black. Cost me a huge amount of money and time. Would have returned but lost my receipt.
