Rated 5 out of 5 by xrayangiodoc from The right pins for my snowthrower I typed in the model number of my Sears Dual Stage snowthrower into Google and the corresponding MTD model popped up along with listings for shear pins. Checked out the Lowe's site and the pins looked identical to what I needed. Would have been helpful if the actual specs for the pins were supplied. They were available at the store and were identical to the spare pins provided by Sears 18 years ago.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sandy from Does what it's supposed to do. I installed the shear pin, started to snow blow and hit a cement block hidden in the deep snow. The pin sheared, just like it was supposed to. I'm glad I had extra's. I am satified with this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Frank from Shear bolts [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've owned my MTD snowblower for 25 years. Every few years a shear bolt fractures and needs replacement. A 4 pack costs around $6 and usually lasts a few years. The repair takes about 5-10 mins. Great value. Solid product.

Thankfully we are in a period of time without much snow. But watch out for when the snow comes and my snowblower shears a bolt - I will be ready!
